don't be fooled by the wide sweeping staircase, that is as good as it gets, only 3 parking spaces, dour uninterested staff, rude bar staff and our room had a sink wide crack in the bathroom, avoid at all costs more

We stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of winter when the outside tempertures fell to minus 15. We arrived and departed by sleeper train and the hotel couldn't have been better located being within the railway station complex and right in the city centre. This was a wonderfully located, clean, comfortable hotel. The staff are very helpful, breakfast is good and we were able to walk to the river, shopping, and sights. This is one of those original Station Hotels, all of which come with drawbacks, it seems. Expect pleasant enough stay if you are forgiving. After lugging our baggage all over Britain, we were ecstatic to find that the hotel was actually attached to the train station. Despite that I did not find our room noisy at all. This hotel should have a health & safety hazard warning when you walk in the door. We stayed here for the weekend and NEVER AGAIN.
