W e stayed ten years ago as part of our honeymoon, and we recently returned. Now, as then, the evening dining is the finest we have discovered in Scotland. Ian even offered an item off the menu to suit our 7 year old. The room was fine - the property could use a little spruce up inside and out. Overall,... More

We booked this hotel after reading many excellent revewis but were left feeling disappointed. Pros Great welcome Interesting decor Nice breakfast Helpful staff Evening meal ok overall Cons Room cold when we arrived Tea service very poor - dirty crockery, no biscuits, only 1 hot chocolate No fixed shower and poor water pressure Cheese straight from fridge (I know, it's... I chose this hotel, for our first wedding anniversary trip, after reading previous rave reviews. The welcome was a very promising start, and our room looked fine although no loch view despite my (well in advance) request. A number of minor disappointments/irritations ensued ; the bathroom was cold, the water pressure for the shower feeble, there was no hot water... More

I have visited this hotel year in year out for over 10 years, always as a diner (moor the boat at Laggan locks). The welcome is genuine - the hostess a treasure, the staff superb and the food is to die for! How anyone can score this less than 5/5 escapes me. The lounge is lovely - fire place, big... More

We stayed in this hotel the last night of our Scottish tour. Fabulous location, overlooking Loch Lochy. Michelin starred restaurant gave excellent value for money. Our room was a delight. Scottish style and hospitality at its very best. Management and staff attentive without being intrusive. It is a place we hope to return to in the future. More

First things first. This hotel has a stonkingly good restaurant. It is underrated in Michelin. I would put it on a par (in London terms) with Roux at Parliament Square, or The Greenhouse. The view from the restaurant is astonishing, too. The decor is admittedly rather tired, but you forgive it immediately as the service is fall-over-backwards-to-help friendly, and the... More

We were lucky enough to chance upon this hotel on our trip around Scotland. The location has fantastic views across Loch Lochy and is a well run hotel. The food is out of this world and you just have to stay and try it. We will definitly be back. Great value. More

I spent one night here with my family after a fairly basic sailing trip round the Western Isles. We arrived just as a bus was leaving but greeted very warmly, and were offered tea in the Drawing Room almost immidiately, We were then given a tour of the public areas, its not a large hotel so this did not take... This was our second visit this year - we previously stayed in June. If you want a wonderfully friendly, comfortable and relaxing holiday in the Scottish Highlands - stay here! Christian and her son Ian will make you feel so welcome . The hotel is on the main road, but sits in an elevated postion and the views are superb.... More
