MY husband and I stayed one night in May and paid 110 for an upgraded room which was in need of maintenance eg the Yale lock was loose, had to boil the kettle on the floor and an extension lead to plug in tv, hair dryer etc, paint work and general finish below standard. Re service or lack of it,... More

We have spent the past week touring Scotland and stayed in 6 hotels. As a family, we ranked this one as the worst, yet it was one of the more expensive ones. I presume it was the owner who met us. We were left standing at the front desk, he rushed in and told us he was just in a... More

Easy to book, they fitted us in at short notice. Our last visit was three years ago and are pleased to say the food is still of an excellent quality. The only reason we didn't rate this 5/5 overall is that the menu was grubby (minor point!), it was a fiver for a bottle of real ale and the service... More

We stayed for just a night at this hotel and found the rooms completely below expectations. We shelled out 100 pounds for a room and the decor, linen, fittings were well below par. We did not expect a really fancy room at this price but the rooms were small and the bathroom tiny. The staff was a bit cold and... More

We spent a night at the Lime Tree after finishing our walk on the West Highland Way. Our room was clean and cozy with a comfortable bed, the common areas were warm and welcoming, the art gallery was lovely, and dinner was out of this world (as was breakfast, for that matter...). The staff was welcoming and helpful. We'd go... More

I have stayed in many great hotels all over the world but this was the first time I felt compelled to leave a review on trip advisor. The service from start to finish at The Lime Tree was first class and nothing was too much trouble (thank you Karen for sorting out the birthday cake) The food was amazing and... More

Having completed the West Highland Way a celebratory meal was required. With a bust foot I was in charge of that, and luckily arrived here as the owner was popping out having just had a cancellation. Fortuitous all round. Our table of five was just what was required. A lovely log fire in one of the two 'waiting room' sitting... More

We got the last room available here which was very fortunate. Opening the front door is liking walking into someones very cosy home with fires blazing in both receptions rooms at the front. Our room was so warm and comfortable with a very spacious bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant which was absolutely fantastic from start to finish including... More

What a beautiful little hotel, the food is absolutely stunning, of a quality you would expect to find in some swanky big city restaurant and this stay has been one of the highlights of our West Hjghland Way walk! The room was fantastic, nice size with a great view.
