My husband & I & our 2 kids have been to Glenfinnan on many occasions and we will continue to return to for many years! The scenery is just amazing, Loch Sheil with Ben Nevis in the background - it is like a scene straight out of the Highlander movie! We have always been given a warm welcome by the... more

Stayed at Glenfinnan (Our favourite Location) for 1st Wedding Anniversary whilst on holiday in Lochaber. My partner is a local and knows the previious owners and have been here many times over the years. This year met with an air of hostility and ''this is a family Hotel'' (not sure what they were implying) from the staff (non Scottish). We... more

We stopped here on route to Arisaig for a bite to eat. We were pleasantly surprised by this charming hotel and its food was great, although we waited a while for it to be made, it was worth the wait. It was just unfortunate that the staff did not match the hotels location, charm and great food. One young american/canadian girl was... more

We had a two night stay at the Glenfinnan House Hotel and loved it. It is homely, rather than grand and isn't cheap, but does represent good value and the location is stunning. We stayed in the top priced four poster room which made the most of the hotel's stunning location right on the lochside. This is a large comfortable... more

I had heard such good things about this place, especially the way Pete Irvine raves about it in Scotland the Best, so I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed. The room was pretty dark and, to me, oppressive and had a lumpy uncomfortable bed but a stunning view over the front garden and the loch. With no TVs... more

This was perhaps the best place I stayed on a recent trip north of the border. A traditional country house hotel, staffed by the warmest and most accommodating people I have come across for a long time. Beautiful location, peace and quiet, comfortable room, fantastic food [the most perfectly cooked steak I have ever eaten!] - nothing was too much... more

Good base for sightseeing and lovely loch-side location. Big bathrooms, nice bar, great food in dining room, etc Sounds great on paper but was the low point of our Scotland vacation as it had so much potential but was marred by lack of attention to basic customer service. We arrived at 6:30 p.m., were asked when we wanted dinner (which... more

Just celebrated our daughters wedding at this fabulous hotel. It surely must be one of the best hotel settings in Scotland. Manja and Duncan, as always, calmly and efficiently saw to it that everything went smoothly. The food , as one guest commented "was not the usual wedding fayre" Using locally sourced produce Duncan and his team provided a wonderful... more

This hotel is just lovely. Obviously, the setting is stunning but the whole ambience of the place makes you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you arrive. The service was unfussy and they are very welcoming to dogs, which is a real bonus. Our room was cosy (no TV or radio which was a good thing) and the bathroom... more

Very traditional, almost old fashioned and will need to have some substantial refurbishment fairly soon. But: lovely setting, good food, friendly and hard working staff. Our room was disappointing, dark, although quite spacious and mattresses/twin beds would have been decrepit in the 1980's. We didn't get much sleep. more
