Stayed here for 2 nights before and after climbing Ben Nevis as we wanted to be able to make an early start and have somewhere comfortable to come back to. Smiddy House was ideal for this - short drive to Ben Nevis and a very comfortable relaxing ambience. After the climb we particularly appreciated the well-appointed ensuite shower room with... more

We did not stay here but we visited the restaurant for the final night of our Honeymoon. What a fabulous experience. They need'nt have seated us as we just popped in on the off chance without a booking, but they did and were very hospitable. A lovely warm atmosphere, very relaxing, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband... more

Stayed one night in June 2008. Charming B&B. Greeted and escorted to room by owner upon arrival, despite them being busy with dinner service. Booked two rooms. We had the family room which had a queen bed and a single bed. Beautifully furnished. Soft comforters. Very clean. Fresh flowers and live plants in room. Bathroom was small but very cute... more

This was our 2nd visit to the Smiddy House Guest House, and yet again absolutely fantastic and well worth the 6 hour drive! We ended up here by accident in 2006 after having booked a lodge nearby for our honeymoon, and needed somewhere to stay for a night before travelling home (that accomodation seriously was not up to scratch!!) but... more

We have stayed in Smiddy House before, first booking their self catering cottage for a holiday. The cottage is wonderful, very comfortable and stylish, lovely features. This year we decided to spend a week in the Highlands - and spent a few days in the B&B. Am so glad we did. The rooms are very well appointed indeed - beautiful... more

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at Smiddy House, Spean Bridge and would highly recommend this B & B to anyone looking for top class service and a very friendly welcome. From our arrival the owner, Robert was so helpful and on more than one occasion went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay.... more

I can't rate this guest house highly enough. It is one of the gems of the Highlands, and I was very lucky to spend a night there recently, having chanced upon it whilst driving down to Fort William. The house is superbly appointed, and the owner, who clearly has a natural flair for interior design, has created rooms that would... more

The property itself was very nice, but our room was literally about a foot and a half larger than the standard size bed. For two people and all of our luggage for 8 days, it required a bit of coordinating to navigate! The breakfast was good and the employees nice and helpful. About 10 minutes from Fort William, and also... more

We stayed at the Smiddy House for one night in June and our only regret is that we did not have enough time in the schedule to stay there longer. We stayed in the Oban room which was large enough to accommodate me -- the "mum" -- and my two girls. The room was tastefully decorated. Before booking the room,... more

I cannot even remember how I found the Smiddy House when planning our trip 6 months ago. I wish I could recall so that I could repeat the steps with future vacation bookings! We stayed for a week and were so delighted with our accomodations and the care and attention we received from our hosts. Travelling with a 3-year old... more
