Have spent numerous nights in this hotel, unfortunately none as my first choice. Have reason to stay in or around Kyle on business and this is always the final option should no other hotels be available as can be the case during the busy sumer months. Rooms are sparse with paint peeling from the walls in the bathrooms. The beds... more

The campsites were washed out and the guest houses were full - we should have realised something was amiss when this hotel still had plenty of rooms. The room hadn't been cleaned for a long time but the wastepaper basket was emptied upon request. The view of the grime and dirt on the pipework when in the bath was very... more

spent one night on a quick train trip from Cornwall via London and Inverness returning via Armadale, Malliag and London then back home. The hotel at Kyleakin which from your site appeared the best bet was closed so booked ahead at Kyle of Lochalsh hotel. Had a massive room no 124 on the west corner first floor with fantastic views.... more

I booked into this hotel on business earlier in the week and was appalled by the overall condition and first impression of the place. The bar area looked tired and unappealing and all that could be heard whilst waiting for the receptionist to finally arrive to check us in was the loud swearing coming from the kitchen. Nice… Once checked... more

Having travelled the outer Hebrides for 8 days previously and encountered a vast array of experiences and cultures within the local communities, through sun, wind, rain and hail (Yes hail in August)!!! Our homeward bound leg was greeted with a lashing rain storm, we could not camp as the site was flooded so after 1 1/2 hours we eventually found... more

This was our 2nd visit to the hotel (came last year) & it did not let us down. We booked by email so we had written confirmation so there was no confusion. Reception lady was very nice & welcoming. We had a large sea view room which was worth every penny-which wasn't the most expensive in the area. As with... more

Not a good experience. First problem was I booked by phone 4 days in advance but when I got there they didn't have a booking for me. This is pretty fundamental because if you travel to a place expecting to have a room & then find yourself on the street its a bit of a disaster especially in the Scottish... more

After touring around Skye, we stopped off in Kyle of Lochalsh late afternoon and decided to break our journey. The other places we tried were fully booked - but we were able to get a room at the Lochalsh Hotel. Should this have told us something?!! The location is amazing, with fabulous views over the loch and towards Skye; the... more

One of best memories of touring Scotland will be sitting outside this hotel in brilliant sunshine and supping a pint of lager on a picnic bench gazing over to the Isle of Skye with boats moored alongside the hotel. Very friendly welcome from reception and generous sized room with amazing view. Joined by porpoises in the bay the next morning... more
