I stayed here with my parents at the beginning of August and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and very well furnished. The view from the room was of the castle and the distance was perfect for a summer night's walk. The camping site in front of the house wasn't ideal but we never heard a peep.... more

Friendly welcome, TV reception and picture poor, shower cramped and wooden surround had signs of damp. Fittings modern, but no shampoo etc, small towels and paper dispoable bath mats. Camper vans motor bikes etc use the road/campsite directly infront of the house, which was distracting rather than noisey. Good breakfast, comfortable bed, directions to eating places etc. Lots of rules...fine... more

This guest house was reasonably priced and everything about it was superb. The breakfasts were brilliant and set us up for the day and it is a brilliant base for visiting Skye. If I do have one small criticism it is that the TV in Room 4 is placed a bit awkwardly and I feel would be better suited opposite... more

We received a warm welcome from our hostess Mary upon arrival who was most helpful with a dinner recommendation and other advise for visiting the area. Our room was lovely with a double and twin bed, ensuite facilities and a stunning view of the Eilean Donan castle. The castle and the village of Dornie are within an easy 15 minute... more

Stayed at this BB June1st-3rd. It was in a great location overlooking the loch and Eilan Donan Castle. Its very clean and friendly. Breakfast is good sets you up for the day. Mary and her husband who run the BB are very knowledgable about the area and will give you plenty of tips for things to do where to eat... more

A comfortable bed and view of the top of the castle was unfortunately marred by the comings and goings in the campsite directly across the road. The location of the kettle on a small shelf right under the TV was a bit precarious and when turned on, sounded like the Space Shuttle launch. Table and chairs right underneath the TV... more

Management response from

The following is a response to the above comments We feel it necessary to point out that in the 8 years since we opened for business We have never had a single complaint about this particular room or any room at Eilean A Cheò. Yes there is a campsite across the road however all of our windows are double glazed...

A 4 star guest house masquerading as a 3 star. Myself and my daughter stayed here in July 2008. This is a charming unique guesthouse owned and ran by a husband and wife (young). Spottless clean ensuite big twin room with wonderful comfortable beds and views of the world famous Eilean Donan Castle. Delicious breakfast ranging from home made yoghurt... more

Booked 1 night accommodation after reading the reviews here. Have to agree with previous reviewers. Rooms have been recently renovated so smartly decorated. Rooms are quite spacious and kept spotlessly clean. The en-suite was new looking too again spotless. A fantastic view from our upstairs room of Eilean Donan Castle and the loch. A very large breakfast was provided of... more

Our first easter in the highlands of Scotland and it snowed. When we arrived here we were exhausted from driving in trecherous conditions. It was 10 o'clock at night and we just wanted to sleep but we had not eaten all day. We ordered room service from the menu in the room.It was excellent. After a cup of tea we fell asleep... more
