We used to love this hotel, it is in the most wonderful setting, but our visit this week was so disappointing. The staff are either very overworked or don`t care. The restaurant was very poor for lunch, the table took ages to get cleared, and the plates were then cleared to the next table. One of us gave up waiting... more

Thank you for posting a review.I am disappointed that you did not enjoy your lunch visit to the hotel. We do clear dishes to a service table in the lower part of the Conservatory that are then placed on trays to carry to the kitchen .Our kitchen is quite a distance away from the Conservatory and if this is what you...

Being a fussy traveller, I checked out the reviews of this hotel before booking. Overall, the reviews were very good but until you have experienced somewhere yourself, you are always cautious. We were staying for a family occasion so between us had two standard rooms. Both were a good size and quality, minor quibble that the room at the front of the hotel had sash windows that would not stay open until we found a way to prop them open. Rooms were very warm on arrival but the heating was fully... more

Just returned from yet another visit to the Golf View, this time to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. Staff efficient and friendly. Food was good last time but even better this time. Everything spotless. Pleased to see a beautician now on the premises for that extra bit of pampering! Looking forward to the next time! more

Just as well we were only booked in for one night! On arrival we thought this hotel looked to be in need of a freshen up. The window frames and other timber work was in a terrible state of disrepair. Once inside the reception looked fine. Our room was spacious. As was the bathroom. The only problem was the lack... more

We visited the hotel with friends for our Hogmany celebrations. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and this efficient yet friendly level of service was maintained throughout our stay. We have just returned from the hotel, having spent New Year there. What a fantastic experience! The room was spacious, clean and warm. The food.......absolutely amazing! The variety and portions were just perfect. The Gala Hogmanay Dinner Dance was excellent. The manager did a great job, keeping the crowd going, and the band was great. We'll be back! more

Enjoyed a three night break in early October, paid extra for a sea view room, room on the third floor. The downside to the third floor was the single lift in the hotel was out of action for our entire stay and likely to remain off for the remainder of the week. This was a major issue for my disabled... more
