I have stayed here twice on business and really enjoyed both times. The outside of the building is not very picturesque, but the view over the Moray Firth from inside is brilliant. My room had everything you need for a visit and was immaculate. The decor is a bit fussy for my taste though. I imagine the first floor rooms... more

We are local to the area, so did not stay at the hotel, but we go there on special occaisions for evening meals, and the food is fantastic. Excellent value for three courses and a brilliant drink selection. The service is also top class. more

Sunny Brae is a small high-quality family-owned and operated hotel with a gourmet restaurant in a delightful setting. Rooms are well-appointed and ultra-clean. Complimentary wi-fi is available in the rooms and the lounge. The restaurant features excellent cuisine and service with the owners of the hotel serving as maitre d'/sommelier and chef. The prix fixe menu offers four different starters,... more

Upon arrival no one welcomed us or helped with luggage. A young man asked if we were there to check-in and I replied "yes". He helped us with a bag up to our room and gave us the key. Not much communication was given about the place, area, etc... We had the master suite for 3 nights. The bed was... more

Stayed there one night in February - a wee treat for us. The staff were great, accommodation great, food great, sea view great (and we live by the sea all year round), and it was central for touring around. We'll be back. more

We stayed at this hotel in the middle of August for two nights. While this hotel is quite expensive for the area you do get what you pay for but to be honest it is not worthwhile paying extra for a sea view room as you are not in it for that long. The breakfast and evening meals are simply... more

During a golf trip to northern Scotland I stayed there on two nights in 2007, May 13th and May 23rd. Each was a great experience with friendly welcome, comfortable rooms and very good breakfasts and dinners. This is a small establishment, unlike those expensive ones I am used to in London, Boston, etc., but the location, the competence and friendliness... more

A beautiful name for an unfortunate place. My wife and I planned for our 40th wedding to be both magical and romantic. Instead we spent our weekend dodging uncomfortable conversation and below average food. For the price I payed I expected a little more than awkward words in the lobby and frozen fish. I desperately wanted to try some of... more

We spent one night in this hotel because we were at a wedding in the town. In general prices quoted for hotels in the town were expensive. This hotel was reasonably priced and was very welcoming and comfortable. It was in very good decorative order and was exceptionally clean. I could find no fault with the standard of cleanliness. more

This is a superb property and a great value. We were not able to get a room with a view of the beach, but that didn't matter - the room was great anyway. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated and bright, even when the sun wasn't shining. Rooms have an iron (very unusual for guest houses from our experience), trouser... more
