Loved this hotel! We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was rather small but it was very comfortable (our travel partners were given a large suite...so we have to assume, it was just the luck of the draw) We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed both. The lobby was attractive... more

I did not actually spend a night at the hotel, but instead was there for a Christmas function on Sat 5th Dec. There was not enough bar staff to cater for the large number in our party, causing a wait of almost 10 mins in some cases to be served at the bar. The waiting staff were obviously new, or... more

We arrived home yesterday from a three day autumn break at the Newton, which we had booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had no idea before this vist that the rooms in the new part of the hotel and the original were so very different. The new rooms are super, but the room in the original part of the... more

am sure that you can appreciate that all feedback, whether positive or negative is essential to the maintaining of the high standards we experience here at the Newton Hotel. I was concerned to read your comments with regards to the standard of the accommodation allocated for your stay in room 108 along with the lack of empathy and understanding of...

Visited the hotel in autumn and the tree colours were fantastic. Arrived at the hotel and were warmly greetly by Moira, (receptionist). We had been upgraded to a suite (127) - it was lovely with underfloor heating in the bathroom. The room was cleaned daily to a very high standard and we met the lady each morning on our way... more

The Newton Hotel has great potential, but is being allowed to drift a little - come on management - take control. Main negatives: What I hate most nowadays is having to pay for wifi in hotels, especially when the signal is poor in the bedrooms - I ended up sitting on the floor near the bedroom door and there was... more

I was concerned to read your comments with regards to the standard of the accommodation allocated for your stay. We have an ongoing program of maintenance in place for our standard rooms and this includes upgrading and improving of bedroom décor, furniture, fittings and also bathrooms, the results of which will be seen throughout the hotel as the program progresses....

We recently stayed at the Newton for two nights. Most of the staff were friendly, but neither of the two staff on reception seemed able to smile and were barely civil. I agree with a previous reviewer that the orange juice at breakfast was awful, there is no excuse nowadays, if there ever was, to water it down. Otherwise the... more

The Newton Hotel was our favourite hotel during our tour of Scotland. It had a large country home feel to it - not a typical "hotel". The hotel had furniture, fittings and wall paper all to the country theme but was still very bright and light throughout. The room we stayed in was large - clean, spacious and had a... more

A mis-booking for our daughter and her husband, shower room with pathetic trickle of a shower, stained, likely mouldy shower curtain, poor standard of service from staff overall, and soiled cereal bowls laid out for guests use at breakfast - two mornings in succession. Would I go there again - only if I was desperate! more

On this occasion, the standard of service that you received during your stay did not reflect our usual high standards and already aware of some of the issues that you have raised, internal action has already been taken to ensure that the situation is not repeated including looking into the training of our restaurant and bar staff, communication between departments...
