We stayed at the Greenock Premier Inn again earlier this week, after enjoying it very much a couple of years ago. Happily, it was exactly the same - clean, welcoming and quiet, with a gorgeous view. We were lucky enough to get a room that faced the Clyde, and the morning sky reflected in the water was breathtaking. We both... more

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, without problems, and our visit this time was planned well in advance. Never again. The 'receptionist' on arrival was rude, hostile & unhelpful. After being promised a room with a river view, we were allocated a room overlooking the noisy car park. This was claimed to be the only... more

Well the room was clean and bright, good view over Clyde. Friendly receptionist who was efficient. Restaurant played awful modern boom bookm music at dinner but otherwise fine-ish. Marked down as we were sold an offer for meal and breakfast for £20 each but when you studied what was actually included it was barely that anyway so bit of a... more

This hotel is a typical Premier Inn (and that's not a criticism) with one big selling point; its location on the banks of the Clyde, in a dockside area of Greenock that is obviously being regenerated. Ask for a riverside room (those with even numbers) if possible. The adjacent Table Table chain-pub also has good river views, especially at sunset.... more

We were booked in here at the expense of the nearby Holiday Inn Expresse who had messed up our booking. A bonus as this hotel appeared to be better located and has a restaurant & bar next door. We chose Greenock as we were taking the nearby ferry crossing from Gourock to Dunoon the next day. The hotel itself was... more

I was going to Greenock for the first time and as always I consulted the Travel Bible that is Tripadvisor. The weight of opinion swayed me in spite of those terrible Lenny Henry adverts for Premier Inns. Now, I do not usually review hotels that are part of chains because usually the staff aren't too bothered. But this hotel is... more

I have avoided premier inns in the past, as soulless chain hotels but everything else in Greenock was fully booked. I was extremely pleasantly surprised. I cannot agree with other reviewers complaining about some of the facilities or lack thereof, this is a clean, basic hotel with huge rooms and a decent bathroom, I have stayed in a lot nastier... more

Just spent 6 nights at this hotel using it as a base to travel around Scotland. The hotel is in a great location with lovely views over the Clyde. Various boats constantly passed by and we had regular sitings of SFPA Norna and The Waverley which passed directly by our window. The hotel is a great example of a Premier... more

This hotel must have gone down hill since all the other reviews. The bed was awful to sleep on, you could feel the springs, the bed linin was cheap in quality for a hotel, poor bathroom with dirty and used bath, no telephone in rooms, no safe deposit, a tiny reception you could not swing a cat in it. The... more
