Having read the previous reviews, I am astonished at what others have written. Following our engagement in January, my husband and I went to visit several venues to find the perfect one and I can honestly say I fell in love with Cromlix as soon as I walked through the door. It felt like walking into someone's house with the... more

We paid £250 for a 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast deal for a very special occasion. On arrival, we were disapointed by the tired furniture and decor in the reception area and our hearts sank even futher when given our room. This was a dull, dismal and dusty affair with a canopy over the bed that was a breeding... more

My wife and I stayed for 1 night expecting a typical Scottish country house hotel. We were not disappointed. The grounds are extensive and give a lovely garden ramble. We could see it could be a firm favourite for weddings/ receptions, especially since it has it's own chapel. The public rooms are AI with a terrific ambience. The bedroom (standard)... more

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the hotel. It is set in fabulous grounds and the interior is definitely what one would expect from a country house! The room was comfortable and well equipped, if a little floral in decor. The food in the restaurant is very good. One minor criticism: service, while good, was a little slow. We... more

We recently spent the weekend at Cromlix House and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise - spacious and very cosy with all the usual extras you would expect in a hotel like this such as tea tray, bathrobesand decent toiletries. Also, masses of wellies and wet weather gear available. The hotel... more

I had some trepidation about my visit to Cromlix given some reviews posted to Trip Advisor however we had a lovely stay at the hotel. The hotel is full of character, the staff were lovely (attentive and charming) and the food was some of the best I've eaten in years. Yes, there are a few extra touches that would push... more

I booked this for a special birthday in the family. The booking was for Sunday lunch. Having heard good reports in the past , I thought it would be a fine place for a special occasion. The food was passable , but service patchy and slow. There was no one in charge. At the end ( by which time my... more

This has to be one of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed in, the food & service was world class. This hotel was well worth the money we paid. more

The room was freezing cold. The manager had to give us a heater to help the central heating along! The hotel was average. Not worth the money. Food was excellent. Biggest complaint was the fact the bed was 2 singles put together. I really hate paying a lot of money and not getting a good nights sleep. I can't understand... more

This is a very charming large manor situated in a private 2000 acre estate near (but not too close too) the A9 past Stirling, The house itself is quite imposing as you approach from the long private road, however once inside it is a delight, a very traditional grand hunting style lodge packed full of antiques, dark oak panelling, large... more
