I stayed in this hotel as I was attending a conference in the nearby Concert Halls. Although a regular traveller to Perth, I had never stayed in this hotel before and had a pleasant experience. When I arrived for check in, the hotel was in darkness as the whole street had a power cut, yet the staff were very helpful... more

Had a lovely room with a superb view looking out over the river Tay. The staff are very welcoming, especially the owner Eddie and his wife Lorna. They did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. It was so refreshing to stay in a privately owned individually styled hotel instead of one of a hotel chain where every hotel and... more

We have just returned from 10 days in Bonnie Scotland, where we home-based our stay at the Royal George Hotel in Perth. We had with us a group of 35, and we were all treated like family. The Andersons and their staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a Victorian valentine (if we had wanted the Holiday Inn... more

A classic scottish hotel for our golf trip. The staff were excellent and you felt like you were in a scottish home. The food and service was perfect and the high tea and scottish breakfast great. The view across the tay was fabulous and location was perfect for our trip. A real hidden gem.... more

This is a lovely, charmingly old-fashioned hotel situated on the banks of the River Tay in the Scottish city of Perth. We have stayed there nearly every year (sometimes twice a year) from 2002, with the exception of 2006, when we have visited nearby Perth. Our last visit was in May 2007 and we plan to visit again in 2008.... more

The location couldn't be better - the river Tay on one side, town centre shops another and the museum and art gallery too. My room very comfortable, clean single with views of the Tay (room 24). Food good, service pleasant, nice relaxed atmosphere. Only gripes - my room on second floor but no lift and the sash window in the... more

Another gem in Scotland with a great location. This hotel oozes charm for me with silver cutlery for breakfast which is the best of food. It may appear dated to some but it would look horrendous if modernised. I will be back sometime for a special occasion. more

This is the second year we have stayed at the Royal George during the summer. While I was somewhat disappointed last year, I appreciate some positive changes were made to improve our stay this time. I still found good and bad points with several things. I found no fault with our room. Our room's amenities, however, are still not what... more

We booked into the Royal George last minute and absolutely loved it! The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, everyone had time for a chat to ask how our day had been. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts and fruit juices. Then a choice of cooked breakfast to include Full Scottish,... more

We have friends who have been staying at the Royal George every summer for years. My husband and I finally decided to join them. Although it's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink in the pub/lounge area, there are a few issues I had: Positives 1. Location--seriously, you can't get much better in Perth. Central, convenient and beautiful... more
