worse hotel i have stayed in this decade, i was envious of the tramps sleeping outside the hotel more
This place is appalling. The service was terrible, the breakfast inedible, the rooms were outdated and in serous need of a ‘fix me up and bring me in the 21st century’. The owner/manager is possibly the worst manager I have ever come across; rude, incompetent. Don’t go there……. more
The website for the Rosemount Hotel promises rooms that are modern and comfortable and a warm welcome. Imagine then our suprise on arriving at the hotel to be greated by an empty desk, followed by witnessing the owner of the hotel screaming at his overworked and harrassed staff. Eventually, we were taken up to our rooms by the hotel receptionist... more
Having seen the website I booked a nights accomodation for myself and 5 friends. The webstie protrayed a lovely boutique hotel. The problems started when we arrived and it took 10 mins for someone to arrive at reception. When a polish chap arrived he tried to help but didn't really seem to know which 3 rooms were ours. A chef... more
It could have been a nice stay if we had a different room. Ours was above the public bar and the locals kept us awake until it closed at half past midnight. Do not stay in rooms 8 or 9 Breakfast was a nicely cooked buffet, similar to that in some of the more expensive hotels around the UK The... more
We stayed for three day's in this charming hotel. We arrived much to late due to the fact that our boat ( from Holland to Scotland) was delayed because of technical problems. The owners were very friendly and helpfull. Our room was clean and well kept during our stay. We had a buffet-breakfast which we liked very much. The staff... more
We were a group of 6 friends travelling together and the hotel was booked following checking out the Scottish tourism site. Unfortunately the friend who made the booking had never heard of tripadvisor.com. The hotel is not in the centre of town and involves a fair uphill walk to get to it. It is not in the best state of... more
On the plus side - the room was clean and the bar and dining area have been recently refurbished to a high standard. Bad points - really poor quality sausages and bacon for breakfast - UNFORGIVABLE given the host of top quality butchers within walking distance of the hotel! The staff were not particularly welcoming or proactive in serving guests... more
Awful place. At 6 months pregnant my partner and I arrived here and were greeted by a barking alsation. It was a good ten minutes after I rang the bell the second time before anyone came to the reception. I was allocated a tiny room with a cupboard as an en-suite which had a sliding door that didnt come near... more
We arrived at the Rosemount for a weekend break. The hotel is lovely and clean and our room had an excellent view. We were joined by a coach-load of travellers from Hull who were lovely people. However the only down-side is that the hotel have too few staff covering too many jobs. Granted they only recently took on another three... more
