Having read here some of the tales of woe, we didn't know what to expect. But from entering the hotel at reception to booking out, we were very pleased by the friendliness and helpfullness of all staff we met. (and they were not all foreign!!) Reception changed our room from one that required stairs (need a stick to walk) to... more

The website for the Atholl Palace is misleading!!! I stayed there in Aug 07 and was very disappointed. The building and grounds are lovely but the hotel interior is run down and dated. The meal was average and the service was poor. In the first room we were given we could not stand up in the shower due to the... more

Stayed in this hotel on Thursday 13.4.08 and spent the Friday at a conference for Social Services. The meal on the Friday night was ok but nothing special. The conference facilities on the Friday could have been in any hotel anywhere in the country. Everything a bit blah. All the staff as mentioned in another review are foreign and are... more

We stayed at the Atholl Palace for a couple of days in January. This a grand old building looks very imposing from the A9. It perhaps does need a bit of redecorating but who wants modern Mariott in a Victorian building. The staff (mainly eastern European) are all very pleasant, good food and fantastic views. I had read the comments... more

We have travelled up from devon to the pitlochry area at least once a year for the past 16 years and really love the area. Having driven past the Atholl Palace so many times we decided to give it a try. It is a beautiful looking imposing hotel set in really lovely grounds. the website is lovely and so is... more

My husband booked this through a travel agent for a suprise 50th birthday for me. We were in a family suite with my 2 children, 9 and 12. You can see this hotel from the A9 and it looks like a fairytale palace. After reading some remarks about it I was worried as it stated it was'nt very suitable for... more

Great hotel in a great location. Easy parking, fabulous bedrooms and the whole hotel is lovely. Food was great, staff helpful. The spa was great - lots of "treatment" rooms and a nice pool, although a little on the small side. Defintely value for money. more

We went to Atholl Palace in Jan ’08 for a wedding. It was a wonderful wedding and we had a great time - the hotel served really well for this purpose. --- Good points --- It has a good indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Facilities very much enjoyed by our friends. It also has a snooker table and hair and... more

Stayed at the Atholl Palace for 4 nights this past August. For what we were looking for this place was perfect. In the area, Pitlochry, you will not find a nicer place. The Atholl Palace has an excellent spa, a wide scotch selection, a number of nature walks, and a tasty restaurant. Right by the hotel are a number of... more
