Receptionist was never there, bar staff - again never there. When the bar staff did arrive to serve you - no conversation, was too busy doing something else in the hotel. Rooms were very clean but no hand towels, I've never stayed in a 3 star hotel which did not supply hand towels in your room. We didn't eat our... more

This huge manor house is budget price but great value ... near pitlochry which is a quaint village, and near the castle of Blair Athol and distillery of the same name. The dining hall, along with the knights armour and weaponry on the walls, services delicious scottish cuisine. Rooms tiny but comfortable and clean. more

Have just come back from this establishment and had a wonderful time. We booked a special offer and the value was amazing. The standard room we had, was small and the bathroom slightly dated, but the whole place was spotless. Lovely crisp cotton sheets and huge proper size bath towels! Tea and Coffee facilities in rooms with lovely shortbread. Breakfast... more

We were looking forward to a country escape from the city and booked a last minute overnight stay in Perthshire. Having consulted the website, the Atholl Arms looked to be a charming shabby chic Highlands hotel. Chic it wasn't...shabby it was! We had booked a "superior" room, but when we arrived were greeted with a decidedly dated and basic looking... more

We stayed here for a short weekend away and wanted somewhere comfortable and reasonable. We got both with this hotel and would recommend it for people who want to experience some of the luxury of a 4 star hotel but for 3 star prices. The best bits were the restaurant which has original beams and a very high ceiling -... more

We booked a two night weekend break as a little pre-valentine treat. Booking direct with the hotel we were advised there were no superior rooms left but assured the standard rooms were nice. On arriving we were greeted warmly into the fab lobby with open coal fire and lots of comfy armchairs. The room which was on the top floor... more

I stayed here this fall and found it an economical hotel with good service, good food in the pub and an excellent staff. Staff helped with rail and taxi arrangments. My only complaint was a TV that only worked periodically and the lack of any e-mail/wireless hookup. However, for an emergency e-mail the staff downloaded and printed an e-mail for... more

Stayed for 2 nights, dinner, bed and breakfast in October 2006. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, although the bed was only a smallish double. Overall it was good value for money at £70 for DBB. The food was excellent, especially the home made clootie dumpling! Great service from the waiting staff too. Would be happy to visit the... more

This hotel was quite nice. It had a lovely lobby and bar. The rooms were spacious and clean. We faced the street and we heard no noise whatsoever. The dining room is beautiful and used to be a hunting lodge. The food was great. All in all I would recommend this hotel especially if you are going to visit Blair... more

We happened to order pub food from the Atholl Arms Hotel. It was absolutely disgusting. We left the lot for fear of food poisoning. The food offered was not for a dog. We couldn't be bothered to complain and simply left. The mince and tatties was obviously from a tin. The steak stale, I could go on. Food like this... more

Management response from

In response to the person who reckons that the food was not even fit for her dog I coudnt agree more !!! As the Atholl Arms Hotel has never served "Mince and Taties" on its menus over last five years I am not sure where they were eating but it certainly was not here. See other reviews on hear or...
