Stayed 2 nights in this beautiful setting. Pierre is a very hospitable host and a superb chef. Would have to search very carefully and pay a lot of money in London for the sort of dinners we had here. more

This is probably one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in - the setting is beautiful, the hosts very welcoming and our room had fabulous views. The evening meal was a real highlight. A wonderful stay - our only regret was we were only booked in for one night! Well worth a visit more

Whilst it is a bit out of the way, it is well worth the visit. Lovely hosts who are most welcoming. A building with character set on a peaceful waterfront. If staying here, take the option of the evening meal, it is wonderful and besides, the roads are not the best to be driving on after dark with a couple... more

The hotel is situated in the most beatiful location, and despite being a mere 45 minutes fromthe main town of Shetaland the location is extremely remote. You can hear the sound of the water gently lapping up to the shore from 50 yards away, the place is so quite. We arrived unprepared and starving at about 2pm, the room includes... more

I was staying at Burrastow at the same time as the previous reviewer and I remember them vividly. My experience was completely different from theirs: My room was beautiful, with stunning views and light pouring in from three directions. The meal that night was delicious home-made tomato and vegetable soup with warm home-made bread, followed by melt-in-the-mouth lamb filet (locally... more

We were booked in for two nights and left after one. When we arrived we were not met and had to search for the kitchen. The room we were given was extremely small with a nice view of a car outside. It had a low ceiling with made it feel claustrophobic. We had to request an extra set of towels... more

The views from this House are so spectacular over a bay. There is a lovely walk from the house around the coastline. The owner Pierre is a wonderful host and cook. The decor is very tasteful and extremely comfortable. There is a lovely lounge for relaxation with a fire place which was toasty warm by the time we came down... more

The hotel is beautifully situated on the western tip of the mainland of Shetland, located on its own sheltered bay, which according to the website was teeming with wildlife. Taking this with a large pinch of salt, since just about every hotel in Shetland claims the same thing, we were pleasantly surprised to be interrupted by the owner within a... more

Fantastic small hotel, 27 miles from Lerwick, the main town of Shetland and two miles from the nearest village on the edge of a beautiful loch. It has only a handful of rooms - we stayed in a massive family room with large double bed and two singles, as well as sitting area and large bathroom. From the windows we... more
