Everyone expects something different so here is our take on Burrastow. The place is what we might generously describe as shabby chic. We were greeted and offered tea and coffee on arrival which was nice, but not offered any assistance with carrying our luggage to our room. The room was clean, comfortable but dated with a very old tiny TV... More

My intial impression was quickly proved wrong and I really warmed to this remote period guest house. Pierre tries really hard (and succeeds) to make sure guests are really well looked after....dinner is good although I may not have had the outstanding meals other reviewers had. The location is amazing with a spectacular cliff walk on the doorstep. I can't... More

We stayed for a couple of nights at the beginning of the season, so were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. Pierre was charming and dealt with my fussy eating habits so skilfully that we ate there both nights instead of just the one as we'd intended. We had one of the newer rooms in the loft and... More

We spent three nights at Burrastow in the Laird's Room. The views were completely wonderful and the room was spacious and very comfortable. Pierre is a great cook and although there was a choice of one item in the three course dinner, we found each of them outstanding. Pierre uses local produce so there was a lot of fish. Breakfasts... We stayed at Burrastow House at the end of August this year. It was a magical place in a magical setting. The food was excellent and I tried lobster for the first time. Take a walk around the headland to the pebbly bay. Sit for a while and you may spot an otter like we did. The whole experience of... More

We were at this magical place in late June and darkness never happens. Just love "shabby chic" and a sense of history. Clean and comfortable with fantastic breakfasts and delicious evening meals. The views were fantastic, with the ever changing weather. Pierre, the owner, and Victoria looked after us so well. I am recommending Burrastow House as THE place to... More

This place is FANTASTIC. We felt thoroughly spoilt there. Our extremely comfortable double bed was a carved four poster with satin drapes and the room was furnished with ostentatious cupboards, ornaments and carpets. The food was second to none. Three courses of impeccably cooked raw ingredients, served the way that only someone who loves good food can serve it. The... More

The setting was idyllic on the edge of the beautiful loch with stunning views all around. The Laird's Room was spacious and very comfortable with three windows overlooking the loch. We had breakfast and dinner in the beautiful wood-panelled dining room again overlooking the loch but could also have eaten in the library or conservatory. Breakfast choice was varied and... More

We stayed in the Laird room . Had a tremendous view of the bay. The otter did show himself briefly, but did not hang around for the photo op.
