This has to be the worst hotel in the world, its so bad its funny, god love the staff they are so friendly and helpfull, how do they even stick it, were do i start ,the rooms are damp and smelly, furniture from the 50,s, the appointment area,s are even worse. just back from a 2 night stay,it was ok,old,musty.got to breakfast 9.15 it closes,my room had been ticked off so the guy said u must have been here already,eventually we were allowed eat.lots of taxi.s lined up outside,just next to train station so easy to find.Bar was empty by 21.00 each night,everyone was over 60 all early to bed.no wouldnt... more

We have just come back from a 2 night stay at the Station Hotel, Ayr. Booked with Newmarket holidays as we went to see the Edinburgh Tattoo. Check in was quick and we were allocated room 233. had a few problems getting confermation when i booked but after a few phonecalls the receptionist leeann had it send in minuets other than that the hotel is a bit dated but from the pictures i kind of knew what i was to expext! more

We stayed at this hotel as I wished to have easy access to the Ayrshire coast. It is an impressive building with plenty of car parking space. I stayed in this hotel a few times last year and then again in January of this year and then this week and OH MY GOD what a change!! And not for the better either!! For starters the staff all seem to be new. There was a few i recognised, a girl with red hair who was there last year... more

This was our 3rd mini break to the hotel and each time we have found it excellent value for money. We got a brilliant deal for 4 nights. Every time we go we know the room won't be perfect but we only sleep there. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to help, all other comments should be taken... more

The hotel is a beautiful red sandstone Victorian building, very impressive from the outside. The location is great too, being only a short walk from the town centre.
