The room was tiny, tired, dated and shabby. The sleeping area of my single, en-suite room was 7 feet x 6 feet. nice little hotel with great potential. It seems a new team has just taken over and starting to give the place a good dusting down. Restaurant is great, good food, fab breakfast. I stay at the Chestnuts on business every 2/3 weeks, whilst I think the rooms are a litttle dated, I cannot agree with the previous review. The rooms are always clean, the staff friendly and attentive and the food excellent! more

Have visited the Chestnuts hotel a few times and on every occassion the food is outstanding. Traditional bar with lovely fire, very welcoming, and the food really is first class. Service is always good too and everything very reasonably priced. Rooms are a bit old fashioned, but always clean. No complaints, would definitely recommend. more
