very nice. Busy hotel situated on the sea front in Ayr. Nice clean reception area and very nice rooms. The receptionist in common with all staff was friendly and professional. Stayed for one night in July. Receptionist very friendly. Room was compact, but clean and quiet, not cheap at 80 pounds for the night. The breakfast was small, and the absence of prices on the menu was a warning.......we were charged 19 pounds for two wee breakfasts, that could be had for less than half that, five minutes walk away... more

Well this hotel is not bad. It sells itself ...'The only thing we overlook is the view' As it overlooks Arran. Stayed at the Horizon in a family room for two nights. £30 per adult and £10 per child on bed and breakfast basis. Recently renovated room was HUGE. Stayed in the horizon for 2 nights with my husband and must say it is an excellent hotel, rooms very well equipped and comfortable. Had dinner in the glass house restaurant and the food was excellent and big portions! Definitely stay here again more
