A very good small hotel. Rooms are nice - bathrooms a little small, but what sets it apart is the service. Excellent management and very well trained staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Many large expensive hotels should take note! A very good stay. more

This is a well-appointed, clean and friendly place to stay. An easy walk to the center of town and to the beach. Our room had a spacious bathroom, lots of windows and over-looked the garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We are vey happy that we chose to stay there. Also recommend the restaurant. Fresh, local choices, reasonably... more

Immaculate cleanliness. Service excellent, (Staff are young but well trained) Food is superb, (try the venison when in season, or the Tai curry style monk fish ) reasonably priced and well served. You could do a lot worse than stay here. Town centre 10 mins walk, racecourse £8 by taxi Station £3 by taxi. more

Used to live in Ayr,lovely town, lovely people.Go back about once a year and this time we could only get booked into the Carrick Lodge...probably because the flower show was on that weekend.Lovely hotel, excellent food, great location, attentive staff, lovely garden but I wouldn`t make this hotel my first choice. Why? We only stayed here one night but found the hotel lovely and cosy. With a two year old and a relatively late arrival, we did not get to enjoy the bar or restaurant but the restaurant was fairly busy which always indicates good food. The most noticeable thing for us were the staff. Both at reception that night and especially... more

I have read with interest the most recent reviews for this hotel, and I am pleased to see that perhaps the letter written to the manager following our stay has helped in some way to improve its standards. The food then was adequate but nothing special, and the same could be said for the accommodation. What we found most disheartening... more

Had the pleasure to stay in this wonderful hotel recently. Very spacious and well decorated rooms. Dinner was excellent for the price (the restaurant was very busy for mid-week). Excellent menu to suit all tastes. Staff could not be friendlier. Looking for an excuse to go back. more

This was another one of the hotels we found by accident. After quite a tiring day and not really sure where we were we stumbled upon Carrick Lodge. It was like stepping into another world. It was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was amazing.... probably the grandest of our trip, with a large flat... more
