After collecting the vouchers in the sun and spending ages deliberating where to go we got our 5th choice. After reading the reviews posted on here I was completely dreading it. However I was pleasantly surprised. When I eventually found the caravan I found it to be clean and relatively new. I am glad I spent the extra £30 and... more

Location okay as a base for visiting Ayrshire attractions. Caravan felt damp, carpets dirty, duvets disgusting. Playpark was minute at entrance and miles from caravan. Reception was at least pleasant on checking in and seemed efficient. Sand dunes and beach access over footbridge but our seven year old loved playing here. Swimming pool - looked so bad we went and... more

Just back from Sandylands, left early. It was the pits, the swimming pool area was dirty, especially the toilets and changing areas. Nothing to do for boys aged 8 and 13. The football pitch if you could call it that was made out of concrete. Only eating facility was the chippy which didn't open till 5.00 p.m. and it was... more

We found ourselves laughing in horror as we drove through the town, then past the barbed-wired council estate to our caravan... luckily we only see a caravan as somewhere to sleep. We paid a £50 charge to have our dog with us, which we presumed was for extra cleaning - fair enough. I'd be surprised if 50p had been spent... more

I read the reviews on here with great interest prior to our visit and did my best to keep an open mind. It is true that the approach to the site doesnt give a great impression, although its not situated on an estate. The facilities are a little basic and not quite as the companies website/marketing would have you believe.... more

We arrived on Saturday 18th July. the staff in reception were overworked but were competent and welcoming. Our caravan was clean and well presented. On our way to the Entertainment venue around 7pm we were almost assualted by three teenagers running from the security guards. We found out later that they were local thugs who regularly terroise the park. That... more

We came across this caravan park after extensive research and thought we were onto a good one, shame we forgot to look at TripAdvisor! Won't be doing that again in a hurry, this site was terrible! As we were camping and had travelled 100's miles we were initially pleased by the pleasant lady at reception (the only pleasant part of... more

we drove in with our caravan in tow, (they offer pitches for tourers)and drove staight back out again! What 1st met us was the play area just at the enterance, full of older kids obviously bored with nothing to do, cursing and swearing amongst themselves. Ok well not be letting our younger kids there unattended, got checked in and off... more

This is marketed as a park with lots going on for teenagers (it isn't), with one 13 year old in tow it looked a good option. On driving through the town of Saltcoats to the site gasps of 'Oh My God' could be heard, but not in a good way, the town is horrible with not even a view over... more

This holiday park is clean and well tended. Our caravan was privately owned, so was clean and well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful. The main problem for us was that the 'entertainment' consisted of karaoke and sparsely attended junior discos. There was NO live entertainment during the time we were there. although there should have been, according... more
