Spent a great couple of days with David Graham and his son Ewan (who presides over an astonishing collection of malt whiskies) at their friendly and cosy hotel in Islay. Each year I take a party of 19 to Islay and for the last 3 years we have had our farewell dinner in the Ballygrant Inn owned by David Graham. I stayed for two nights on a motorbike trip on my first trip to Islay.The pub has 3 rooms with a shared (bathroom being upgraded at present) bathroom adequate,shower in room. Looks like a hotel but on the inside it's a converted house with a radio playing in the kitchen and one man who seems to do everything on his own. There are good reasons for good rating Bellygrant Inn: very nice fellows, original fresh made scottish food, best stuffed bar, good accomodation and nice surrounding. All in all we felt very familiar, appreciate(d) it! more

I stayed at Ballygrant almost a year ago and it's still the trip I talk most about.
