We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Handa Bed & Breakfast on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. It is the most marvellous Bed & Breakfast experience that we have ever had. The hospitality was outstanding and the breakfast menu was the most varied that we had ever seen. Each item was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Our hosts Christine and Murdo welcomed us with open arms into their lovely home. The setting is dramatic, at the end of a quiet road with panoramic views of lochs and hills all around. It is a wonderful place to relax and refresh yourselves. My husband went fishing one evening, a 2 minute walk from the house, and really enjoyed the experience. We had to catch an early ferry on our last morning. Our hosts made us a delicious fruit salad, toast and coffee at 0545 and sent us on our way with sandwiches which were delicious and enjoyed much later in the day. The house is an easy 20 minute drive from Stornoway the main town on the island. more
