We checked into Kilmuir House after arriving on the afternoon ferry in Armadale, and stopping for dinner in Portree (on the advice of our hostess). Since we had been on Skye before, we didn't take time to stop anywhere on the way.
I can't tell you what the views from the B&B were like - it was dark, rainy and with low clouds - and so very windy - for our entire stay on Skye, that if I didn't know better, I would have thought that the area was mostly flat with some small rolling hills. But, based on the drive up to the B&B - a narrow single lane road with some very sharp switchbacks at the very beginning, I bet this place has fantastic views in good weather.
The house is old and substantially built - which was a comfort in the winds that pummelled us for the duration of our stay. Both of the rooms we were in would have had views to the ocean over the walled garden, if we been able to see that far.
