I had never been to Cork. I drove down from Belfast and needed to stay overnight. I found the Ashley from google search and it seemed to suit my requirements, central, cheap and basic. The staff seemed to be mostly East European with scant local knowledge and there was also some communication problems. My main complaint was that the room... more

65 euro a night per room. Thats what it cost me for a big double bed. Telly, shower, toilet. She shower was a little underpowered, but it was fine. Toilet was clean as was the rest of the room. Again I go back to the point, its only 65 euro a night(per room, not person), which in this day and... more

I stayed here as part of a stag party, so didn't really have very high expectations and these were met! It is a bit grubby, run down and for some stage reason the shower wasn't attached to anything. The room was small, the bed hard and everything was pretty low quality. The owner was very friendly and helpful. What I... more

Stayed here last Friday night. Pretty unimpressed. Its really something. Car park is a joke. If i actually cared about my car I wouldnt have parked there. Was quoted 60 euro for single room, got charged 65. Then there was a 4 euro credit card charge, didn't know people still did that. Rooms was old and dark with a teenie... more

My bofriend and myself checked into this hotel for 2 nights, and we were not impressed, the bed covers were stained the room was stuffy, and smelly, worse still there were hairs in the shower and bathroom floor. The staff were not very friendly either, i have to say its the worst hotel we ever stayed in. more

I'd checked out some reviews of this hotel (for peace of mind really as with the weekend that was in it - Jazz Festival - we'd no choice as everywhere was booked up). The only negative review I found was by a lady from Somerset and as I saw that this was dated 2003 and the recent reviews seemed good,... more

This was about my 5th visit and I expect to be back in the autumn. The staff are friendly and helpful and my only complaint about the food is the volume. The evening bar meals are great but there always seems to be too much. Location is ideal with the city centre shops and entertainment, train and bus stations all... more

We stayed at the Ashley on a Sunday night, so luckily the clubs surrounding it were not open. The lobby is dark and the staff is not very friendly. The room we received was at the front of the hotel. It was mediocre. I do agree with the comment that the sheets smelled like bodies. It was a little disturbing... more
