I have not stayed at this hotel, but I live nearby. A previous poster says the service was very good, and this may be true as I have had lunch there and I must say the staff are friendly. HOWEVER be warned, this hotel is very run down and the reason is that at the moment (Aug '05)it is either up for sale or sold and as a consequence nothing has been done to improve it over the past few years. The current owners are not hoteliers and never really made a 'go' of it. It's location (Glanmire) is 6 miles (9k) from Cork City, there is a fairly frequent and reliable bus service. Cost of taxi into the city would be about €10 - €15. Cost of bus about €2.50.
The Glanmire area is a nice built up suburb with no tourist attractions. A number of Golf clubs are within a 15 minute car drive, and Fota Wildlife park is about 20 minute drive. It also on the route to the main Dublin and East Cork roads.
