I stayed in the Victoria Hotel midweek during March 2008. I'll admit that the rooms are basic, but the price couldn't be better for such a good central location. The downstairs lobby area has free wifi and some rooms also have access (but not all, so request on booking). Breakfast was grand. I found the receptionist staff very helpful, booking... more

The location of this hotel couldn't be better, you just step onto the main street and your in shopping heaven. After that the love for it ends. The hotel is very old and shabby and needs a major facelift. Our room slept 2 adults and 2 children and while it was spacious it was dangerous, exposed live wires peeping from... more

This really is like a hostel, with a bar. Avoid it if you have kids. Also, avoid it if you are mature or want peace and quiet. If you are young and single, then this might be perfect for you, especially if on a tight budget. The 'pub-grub' was very good, but not very cheap. Breakfast was fine. Beds were... more

We have recently spent three nights in Cork and wanted a central hotel. For location alone this hotel is good, situated in the main shopping area and near to wonderful bars and restaurants. However the bedrooms were tired looking with old furniture although it was clean and comfy. The breakfasts were nothing special but were plentiful. It was noisy during... more

A large group of 15 of us stayed overnight at the Victoria Hotel on Saturday 13th October. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the main shopping street and with easy access to all city areas, including bars and restaurants. Everyone was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. A special mention to Dave in the bar and Sunny in... more

We have recently spent a four night duration at the Hotel Victoria (the Bates Motel) in the centre of Cork. We were pleased with the location of the Hotel surrounding by bars and eateries absolutely perfect. However we did not anticipate groups of Stags and Hens running riot in the early hours of the morning through the corridors of the... more

The location of this hotel was great. In spite of being right in city center, the hotel was protected from the noises from the streets. The room was small and the tv didn't work, but we were not on vacation to watch tv. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was tasty. If you are looking for an affordable stay... more

I was told that there were only a few steps from street to hotel, there was at least a dozen. As I use a mobility walking aid it was almost impossible. We were kept awake all night with drunken louts trying to kick the doors in! They do not mention in their web pages that stag/hen parties are allowed. We were... more

I stayed at the Victoria Hotel in Jan 2007 on a short break with my mum. The hotel is very well located, being right on the main street. We nearly walked past it in fact as the entrance is in between some shops. We didn't have any problem with noise from the street, although our room(s) were at the back... more
