This was a budget hotel and as they you get what you pay for. The room that I was initially given I had to change as it reeked of cigarette smoke. There was no problem in changing the room. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a better pillow, but then I have a thing about... more

Before I give you a quick run down of my experience, let me tell you why I was in Cork. I was there for one night to meet up with the lads for a college reunion and a bit of a party. We arrived via train and spent 12/13 Euro on a taxi to the hotel - so it is... more

The staff were very friendly, and the food was good. They were sympathetic to the morning after heads aswell. All the staff were so friendly, and we had live music on in the bar every night. The hotel was very clean and staff made sure that nothing was too much trouble. The decor is a bit dated, and some of... more

I stayed in the Dougcloyne on a Saturday. I found it to be a nice 3 star hotel. The bathroom tiles and fitting looked new. The rooms were nice and clean although the carpet near the bathroom was stained with what looked like water. But that aside the room I stayed in was nice. The bed linnen was new and... more

Stayed in the doughcloyne hotel in march of this year. Although it is not the most attractive hotel from the outside the rooms were spotless, the reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, there was good craic in the lounge on the friday night and we really enjoyed our dinner. overall excellent value for money. more

On the 23 July 2006 we stayed in the Doughcloyne Hotel cork. We were a group of 31 Belgians , and members of a culture club. Our stay was part of an itinerary around Ireland which we booked through a travel agent asking for minimum 3 star hotels. The doughcloyne falls drastically short of this standard. The rooms were smelling... more

The manager is hilarious, a really genuine funny guy. The staff seem perfectly nice, it is very clean but there is inadequete heating in the room, none whatsoever in the bathroom. There is one small plug in radiator, and an air conditioning/heating unit that didnt work. The manager did get it working but then it totally failed again and made... more
