Its right in the city centre, next to the River Lee. Its also 5 min walk to St Patricks Street, the bus station and the train station. At the back of the hotel, there is the bus stop that goes directly to the Airport. Rooms are clean, and if you are lucky, you get the bathroom with the double shower... More

Stayed here on Feb 11th with my wife. Was looking for a decent good value hotel with Cental location. Was not dissappointed and would recommend it to anyone visit Cork City. Could not find any fault with my stay. I would stay here again, no problem. Breakfeast was great with friendly service. More

Stayed in the Gresham Metropole for the weekend recently, very enjoyable. The staff are very helpful – the receptionist, Deimante, exceptionally so. We had a lovely large warm room with two big windows, and a large bright ensuite with a jacuzzi bath (ask for room 316). Good selection of toiletries. Fridge in the room. Pool and leisure centre very good.... More

After being misled by photos of a nearby hotel, I surprised my fiance by booking at The Gresham for the rest of our stay in Cork. This place was great. Very professional, clean, nicely designed rooms with a great view of the town. The bathroom had a heated towel rack, which was especially useful for hand washing and drying clothes.... More

I stayed at the Gresham Metrople on Sat 4 February. Overall I had a very pleasant experience. The hotel itself is a very old building so that can't be helped. I stayed in a twin room and was very impressed to see the toiletries in the room. Along with the usual shower gel, there was soap, shoe shine, show cap,... More

I have to say this has been the worst hotel experience I've had yet. The hotel is not cheap, I payed €80 euro for one night and I had to spend the night sleeping in all my clothes the room was so cold. There was only a very light summer duvet on the bed for it being a cold winter.... More

We stayed one night here in Cork. Great location in front of the river and just over the bridge is the bustling main shopping area of Cork. 15 minute easy drive to Blarney Castle. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. Nice Restaurant/Bar right in the hotel. Many restaurants/pubs/shops around the hotel. Room was sized small-moderate, but quiet... We spent a lovely weekend in Cork, which was even more special because of the location and hospitality of the Metropole. The hotel, staff and pool were brilliant, the room was on the small size, and a bit noisy by the road, but we hope to return one day (with ear plugs). Breakfast was limited but available until 12 noon... More
