Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Asked to move from first room given after paying over €400 for 2 nights I didn't think the room was worth it. Very dark, old and tired. We were shown another room which was much better, brighter, and had a walk in shower. Lovely comfy bed, great night's sleep. No heating in room, radiator always cold. Breakfast very nice. All staff very friendly. Weird toilet cistern noise early hours of morning and the shower would start dripping intermittently during the night. The hotel is in a busy road area and a flyover nearby but buses were regular.

Easy checkin and room was fine . Wifi worked , car parking free . Breakfast was OK , coffee a bit tasteless I'd descibe hotel as somewhere between a large B&B / small hotel. Room was quiet , bed a double .

This hotel is tired and in need of updating. My bedroom was large and comfortable but old fashioned. Breakfast was slow as the restaurant was packed. It was not able to cater for numbers required. This hotel was not value for money and location was on a noisy road.

My friend and i stayed here in July 2021 for 2 nights. It is very close to the city center. Less than 10 minutes on the city bus, which is right outside the door. Very comfortable bed and a very nice breakfast. The room was big and there is a lovely outside area. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a very well appointed hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff and a well maintained decor. The room I had was absolutely huge and overlooked the private garden that was open for the use of residents. The full irish breakfast was excellent value for money and superbly cooked - made me wish that the restaurant was also open in the evenings. There is only one downside to the Belvedere and that is the location. It is on the main Cork/Dublin road which is incredibly busy and it is a 30-45 minute walk from the City Centre. However, there is a regular bus from the train station and a taxi will only cost you 10-15 euros. This is a minor complaint about a truly excellent hotel. I would have absolutely no qualms about staying here again.

Right under the 'motorway' bridge by Cork. Looked like it was in a quiet area but the photos were deceiving. Booked via booking.com and the room pictures shown that we chose the room from bore no resemblance to the actual room. Nor particularly the bathroom! No 'welcome drink and hot snack' as advertised. Just asked for payment and handed key to room and given brief instructions on how to get to it. Not shown the 'garden' nor lounge. Despite the position it was fairly quiet at night but room was hot and stuffy. Breakfast reviews all seem to talk about excellent breakfast. Best I'd say it was average. Think cheap white bread toast, thin cheap sausages and rest was average. However hubbie did say the coffee was ok. No bottled water in the room and the 'deluxe' double we had had a very poor bathroom and the room 'snacks' were two two finger Kit Kats, not even bothered to use local handmade produce. Would not recommend nor stay here again. Very expensive for what it was (£120 pn)! Bed was comfortable though.

We stayed here for one night. It's in a strategic location when driving from Dublin as it's easy to access from the M8 motorway. There is private parking in the front garden. The house is old yet beautifully appointed with appropriate antiques from that period. The room was pleasant and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and spotless and seemed to have been upgraded recently. The windows' insulation is good so you don't hear the traffic outside. Indeed, if your bedroom is overlooking the beautiful back garden, you feel you're in a suburban oasis rather than just off a city motorway. The fire doors are shut in the corridors at night, reducing any noise, though the guest house seems quiet at night anyway, improving the chances of a good night's sleep. The breakfast is excellent. A delicious plant-based and gluten-free feed was served up by cheerful wait staff in the bright and airy conservatory. Staying here was a pleasant experience.

We stayed at The Belvedere for a couple of nights. It’s an old property, not in the best of shape, but this is reflected in the price. It was being decorated whilst we were there but this didn’t impact on our stay. Ground floor bedroom was ok. We had a problem locking the patio door, so we couldn’t use it once we managed to get it shut. Bed was uncomfortable and on a weird slope. Breakfast was very good and I have to say all the staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Worst thing for us was the location. We knew it was out of the centre, but it’s on the ‘wrong’ side of town. 40 minute walk and all of it ugly. Think industrial estates and concrete flyovers.
