For those travelling with Shamrocker Tours (good trip, but not reviewed in conjunction with this hostel), Kinlay House is the obvious choice due to convenience (you start the tour in reception). However, avoid at all costs due to poor value for money. I booked the 4-bed hostel room, and for its price is NOT worth it. The bunks were shonky,... more

I was very curious about the arrival in Dublin, because I only saw the hotel on photos then. But I stepped into it and felt welcome. First and foremost I have to say, that it's not a hotel, but a hostel. So this means you have a general kitchen, where everybody can cook his/her own meals, and you have a... more

Stayed here before picking up the a 5 day bus trip and then again when I returned. The Hostel is where you would want to be in Dublin, close to everything and not hard to get to and from either by Ferry or Plane. Stayed in a female 6 bedroom, with own bathroom, they offer toast tea and coffee for... more

Everything about this hostel is perfect, especially for the price. Close proximity to temple bar and the night life as well right outside of Christ Church Cathedral and Dublin Castle. We stayed in the 16 person dormitory which was great.. all the beds were grouped into quads within the room. class. highly recommend it. Breakfast is included, although it's just... more

The best thing about this place is definitely the location, though the price was also very nice. We only stayed here one night, but the staff was friendly, and we didn't have to pay any extra fees for anything. If you stay here, you should go across the street to The Bull and Castle Pub-they have over 1,000 beers to... more

I was in Dublin the weekend before St. Patty's because a buddy of mine wanted to go watch a Rugby match. We were lucky to get the room, because everything was either full or terribly expensive. In any case, the people at the Hostel were massively helpful. They gave us great recommendations on places to eat. The room was perfect... more

I had stayed at Kinlay House a number of times when I lived in Ireland and always found it clean and pleasant, so we booked a en suite double again for our visit to Dublin. We received an e-mail telling us our booking had been messed up and we would have a twin instead of a double room. Fair enough,... more

Kinlay House, is just on the end of the wine/bar district of dublin, 15 mins walk to the guiness storehouse and 25 mins walk to the main bus station (Busanas). To find it just head for the essex bridge from the bus station and cross the river in to the Temple bar district, and walk up parliment street. This place... more

My boyfriend and I had a room to ourselves with a shared bathroom. The room itself was fine; nothing special, but decent. The toilets were disgusting and the floor around the toilets was soggy and falling apart. Only 2 of the three showers on our floor worked, and one of them didn't work well at all. My boyfriend wanted to... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in May prior to taking a tour of Ireland. I chose this hostel due to the fact that the tour left from there the next morning. I stayed in the cheapest dorm (24-bed mixed) and got a bed close to the door with my own area for hanging stuff up and a place to put... more
