Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There's not enough that can be said. The hotel was beautiful. The room was large, with a gorgeous four poster bed, ample accommodations and well put together. There is AMPLE parking close to downtown Dublin, which is amazing. The hotel staff were so helpful and just a pleasure to interact with. We ate at the bar because we arrived late and the food was outstanding. Bonus; I had forgotten some medication in the rush to get around in the morning (we overslept due to comfort) and the hotel heald onto it for the week that we were in Scotland. I can't thank them enough.

Stayed for only 1 night-but wished that I could have stayed longer. My room was lovely and roomy- loved the bathroom too (waterfall shower!!). Reception staff were so friendly and helpful. Ate at the bar and the food was so good. Lots of locals coming into the bar, so it felt very homey.

We spent our last night in Ireland here. In retrospect I wish we had also stayed here at the beginning of the trip. EJ checked us in. He knew we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary so he upgraded our room and surprised us with wine and chocolate in our room. The room was beautiful, clean, and very nicely decorated. The staff at check in and at the bar were all very kind. I could see that there was a guest being difficult at check in and the staff taking care of her was so patient, I give him a lot of credit. I would definitely recommend staying here even if it’s outside of downtown a bit. Easy access to airport for departure next day.

The hotel room was comfortable. We had an executive family room. The beds were small, two full size beds, not queens or kings. There was good space in the room for our young kids to play and a nice sized bathroom. The hotel is a 20 Euro uber ride from the city center. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. House keeping was terrible. We had two overflowing trash cans in the room and house keeping emptied one, left the other full, and left the garbage on the floor around the can they emptied. They made the beds but all of our pillows were thrown and left on the floor when we returned. No dirty towels were changed in bathroom. I complained to the front desk and house keeping came back to clean again. This time they left the room without toilet paper and I had to call a second time to complain in the same night. Breakfast was very good but service was terrible. Both mornings we walked into the restaurant and were not greeted by a host and found our own tables. One morning there were 6 of us from our party at one table, we all requested coffee and we were brought one small cup of milk (enough for 2 cups of coffee) and had to request 4x to be brought 4 containers of milk. We still never received the milk we requested after asking 4 times! Other than my two complaints above the hotel was great and would have received a much higher rating. My kids loved staying in an old castle.

This is our second stay here within a year and it's definitely a new favourite for us Warm, friendly check in. We requested an upgrade, that we would be happy to pay for, and this was facilitated without issue. We were allocated a beautiful junior suite on the top floor. A spacious, bright, comfortable room with quality soft furnishings and bedding. We had a great lunch in Knights bar followed by a fabulous meal in Farenheight restaurant in the evening . We were celebrating a special wedding anniversary and this was marked on several occasions by the fabulous staff. We felt really well looked after by a genuinely friendly team. The hotel is comfortable and luxurious throughout, fantastic, well trained, friendly staff and in a really nice part of north Dublin. We enjoyed exploring the area around the hotel too. We will be back! Thank you to all the staff for making our recent stay so enjoyable.

Another fabulous stay at this hugely impressive hotel. Greeted with smiles from the desk staff who were fabulous. Gorgeous room, thanks Marcello! Supper in the Knights Bar excellent as always, especially the chowder! Large family party accommodated with ease for a special 90th birthday, well done Karen & team. We have stayed at the Castle many times over the last 10+ years and look forward to the return date with anticipation of a luxurious break with great attention to detail for our comfort and enjoyment. a truly super hotel, many thanks, Hillary

We have stayed several times in this hotel and never been disappointed. The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming, Arthur checked us in and Marilena checked out, they were both so nice and had plenty of time to chat. We stayed for 2 nights and given a Junior suite which was fabulous, the room was spacious and comfortable the lounge area had a comfortable sofa. The bathroom was very modern and we particularly enjoyed the glass artwork. After checking in we had a pleasant lunch in the bar, the service was friendly and prompt. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. I used the gym and though small was fine for a forty minute exercise, towels and water provided. Looking forward to returning. Thanks very much Glenn & Trish

Very nice hotel, very clean. Location is in a nice area, but a long way from Dublin town centre and quite a walk to get a bus, or you need to use expensive taxis. Very nice staff, but not very helpful when you want something different, like sandwiches 10 minutes after they stop serving them.

wonderful time myself and my family had in this hotel . We stayed Sunday the 4th Feb and from checkin to checkout you could not have did more for us. Reception staff were brilliant, very personal and great with the kids, the Castle fairy went down a real treat with the kids and we really appreciated it. We asked for a bigger room when I booked as there was 5 of us and the room was great. The food was absolutely delicious, wife said nicest breakfast in a hotel she ever had. I loved the Castle with all the history and it was really interesting. Thanks again, all your staff are very nice and down to earth , from the reception staff to the girl I met in the lift cleaning, all very nice, great stay

Fantastic. The housekeeping staff do an amazing job, such attention to detail. Well done Yvonne and Helen. I've stayed in 'fancier' hotels around the world, but your care and commitment out shone them all. Excellent service all round. Good food, comfortable rooms and more importantly, pleasant engaging staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my first time in Ireland. Thank you.
