This is exactly what a B&B needs to be. A functional guesthouse without frills or extravagance, but with a decent welcome, pretty good food and at a reasonable rate. It's a wee bit out of town, but it's right on the bus route into Dublin and the Dart is a short walk around the corner. The owner was helpful in... more

We spent two nights there and this was one of the bnbs that I enjoyed staying at. It's clean and spacious which is really important. The owner, Dennis was very helpful during our stay. Although Glenogra is not located near the central downtown tourist area, it is convenient to travel around by bus or the Dart. The stn is just... more

What a pleasant place to begin and end the days of sightseeing in busy Dublin! The rooms are cheerful, clean, bright and comfortable; the full Irish breakfasts are excellent; the owner, his son, and the staff are gracious and available, yet unobtrusive. Walking distance to the lightrail, with two excellent hotel restaurants right across the way. We could not have... more

I stayed here last weekend, there was little availability in the Ballsbridge area, I wish I'd looked earlier because there are plenty of B&B's in the area every bit as good as Glenogra and for a much better price. Anyway the room, whilst fairly spacious, was very old fashioned. The bathroom was adequate, a nice sized bath which might have... more

Looked forward to staying here due to several good reviews. We were given room # 3, very small and the bathroom, while ensuite, was 6 steps up., The in room coffee service was located under the TV, and the baseboards were full of dust next to the pot. The room needed refreshing badly. Requested a king or queen bed and... more

Glenogra House was the only non-B&B we stayed in during our tour of Ireland. It's a great little guesthouse in a nice section of the city. The guesthouse is situated in Ballsbridge, an elegant section just outside Dublin's city center. It's near embassies, including the American embassy, and is just across the street from the Four Seasons Hotel (a good... more

We had a perfectly lovely stay at Glenogra. We arrived in Dublin in the morning and took the bus from the airport. Our rooms were ready for us early as previously arranged. We got good advice from the hotel staff, had comfortable beds, sizable bathrooms, and a bountiful breakfast. The menu offered a nice selection of options, including smoked salmon... more

We spent the night of May 19th here. We took the aircoach bus from the airport and it left us off across the road from the guesthouse. It was a busy road and it took a little while with our lugggage and all to cross. Check-in was quick and our room was lovely, with comfortable bed, couch and TV and... more

I fel obligated to post here as I picked the Glenogra based on this site. I was there w/my wife, father-in-law and 18 mo old son while visiting Dublin. The 9/17 Montrealer's experience is similar to ours, I think. The Glenogra is far from the city centre, is on a noisy major street, although it is v.well insulated to keep... more

This guest house is indeed a luxuous one. But where is the smile of the owner and his staff??? The guest house is very far from downtown and not well located if you don't have a car. It is located on a very busy street. Breakfast is OK, but the self service menu is always the same. We would not... more
