Bad: no lift, so we had to carry our bag three floors. The room, with a terrible smell to smoke. In the bathroom, one piece broken. Besides, we had reserved place for parking, ¡and we couldn't park in it! I will not return, of course. more

Othello Hotel June 08 I was worried after reading other reviews but as they dated back to last year we hoped for the best. Upon our arrival we were received by a very friendly receptionist and shown were the breakfast room etc was. I have to agree the decor could do with upgrading but the rooms were spotless clean, (including... more

Having read the reviews of others before our weekend stay, I was a litle concerned about what would be awaiting us on arrival. We were pleasantly surprised. This hotel represents very good value for money and is not as bad as other reviews suggest. We stayed in a ground floor room at the back (which was nice and quiet). It... more

We waited too long to book our stay in Dublin, and also didn't realize the dates we would be there coincided with a bank holiday weekend. Thus, we ended up four adults to a room at the Othello Guesthouse. It's located relatively near O'Connell Street, the main bus station, and a few nightclubs. Other than that, it was pretty disappointing.... more

The hotel has an impressive foyer, comparing this to the room, which was clean and tidy, but with no frills. We stayed in a room at the rear of the hotel which ensured we heard very little noise from the street. We had no light in the bathroom, which we did ask to have replaced, this unfortunately, did not get... more

Our first room was below ground level with a noisy extractor van sounding across the road, bars on the window and a broken handle on the window which meant you could hear everyone walk past as well as the drone of the fan all night. We requested a room change, which they did into a room where the carpet didn't... more

Absolutely no ! 1) The place need REALLY a serius refurnishment !!! 2) The room i had (and most of them are so) was directly facing Gardiner st and this, combined with the first point (windows are at least one hundred year old (!!!) ) involved that for tree days we could not sleep in spite of using earplugs. It... more

Still under going a face lift, shame they didn't take that into account when paying the bill!!! Kettle looked like someone had a camp fire in there from the previous night, still wouldn't change it even though they did say they would. Shower looked liked it had never been cleaned this year, Kitchen was still in bits and workmen working... more

Oh dear. I had read the previous reviews of this hotel and so arrived with a little bit of pre-warning and trepidation. The electricity supply box in bits in the lobby was not a good sign. I was late arriving and allocated room 42, which is an annex at the back of the hotel. This is reached by going outside... more
