Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Dergvale Hotel is a little gem, the rooms are bright and cosy I found the bed extremely comfortable. There is someone on reception 24hrs and that is usually a family member Gerry or Olga who gave us lots of useful information. We had breakfast in The Castle Tea rooms it was fresh, piping hot and very tasty. We had a fabulous trip to Dublin it started with our Hotel if it's not right then the rest isn't right for me.

Dergvale Hotel was so lovely. The room was lovely, the amenities were great, the location is definitely great. The hotel is a little quaint - which I absolutely loved! It felt homey but still hotely. Ever staff member I interacted with was nothing but lovely, and they have good advice about exploring dublin. Definitely recommend

Stayed for a few days while on vacation. Pleasant smaller hotel, reasonably priced for Dublin. Well located, about a 10 minute walk to the main tourist area of the city (so if you have mobility issues, this might be a negative. Also no elevator, and there were a few stairs). This also meant the area was a bit quieter, away from the main tourist bars and associated activity. They aren't [currently?] serving breakfast, but they had recommendations for a few cafes nearby. Bottled water provided, and then you could get extra at the front desk. Room was good sized, the building appears to be a hotel conversion, so broken into the 20 rooms. Bed was reasonably comfortable, and flat screen tv on the wall with a number of channels in a variety of languages. Had a small closet to hang clothing, so enough storage. Bathroom was sufficient. Sink both in bathroom and in main room. I don't know if there is AC. It being Ireland, I assume not and it did not get super hot while I was there so that didn't affect me. Radiators were still on in the room, so you could make it toasty in any case. Carpet in rooms isn't my preference, but it seemed clean enough. Only other quibble is that (since it was converted I assume) the walls are very thin. I could hear everything my neighbor said or did. Dublin is very expensive, so can recommend this place if you are looking for something slightly more reasonably priced.

My husband and I were in Dublin for a long weekend. We were greeted by friendly staff. Our room was large and nicely decorated. We were given excellent recommendations for breakfast and dinner. Hotel is close to everything you need and not far from the tourist area. Very nice place to stay. Highly recommend.

This lovely family-run hotel exceeded all our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable. The location is great and not far from the city center, restaurants, buses and supermarkets. The owners are very friendly, helpful, welcoming and adorable. They even printed our boarding passes!! We will come back for sure!

The staff were friendly, but they have no lift and beds so uncomfortable! We were moved to a bigger room which a much better room so that was appreciated, the double room is just far too small and warm!

Pleasantly surprised when we entered our room, all new carpeting, bed linens. bathroom tile, shower and painted rooms! Clearly an older property but very well maintained and run. Nancy and Olga are part of the family run hotel and they do a superb job at taking care of their guests. Any and all requests for ice or whatever were promptly taken care of. Just can’t say enough about this family owned property, you can’t go wrong. We actually were looking for a B&B several months ago when we book this and we’re unable to do so because it was Saint Paddy’s day weekend. We’re so glad that it worked out this way.

The location of Dergvale is fine; just off of the main road & a short walk from the luas & local buses, which is great. All staff members we encountered were absolute babes & although they offered a breakfast service, we didn’t experience it, opting to go out. We stayed in room 12 which was great value for money & for all its good points (including free wifi), included A LOT of steps. Would definitely like to stay here again, but might request a room nearer the ground.
