For those travelling on a budget, I would reccomend Caulfields, the hotel represented value for money in a city where hotel prices are extremely expensive. If you're looking for somewhere smack bang in Temple Bar, though, forget it. The room was basic, yet clean, with UK television (handy if you want to watch EastEnders before hitting the town). My only... more

I stayed here with my 10-year-old daughter, we came for a few days, the room was at the front but not at all noisy the only problem we did have was when the drayman came with the delivery very early on the second morning. Location is bit far out of town but can be walked in about 15minutes. We got... more

Although it took a while to find it as it is not 'just off O'Connell street' (10-15 minute walk) by any stretch of the imagination, it is a pleasant, clean place to stay with a lovely, friendly atmosphere. The road outside is noisy as it is a major thoroughfare into the city so if you are a light sleeper take... more

I stayed here on a Saturday night, NEVER AGAIN. Room was dirty, man at reception rude and then they have the nerve to charge me 60 Euros for the privellege!!! There was no room anywhere else in town that night, I felt like I was in the red light district. more

Stayed for one night here, in what is I would rate as a poor guesthouse over a noisy pub. There was no heating in the room, which was up 3 flights of stairs, no sign of a fire escape and little sign of fire safety. In fact you would need a map just to find your way back to reception.... more

I think this hotel is okay for the price - I paid 50€ through weblink - and for a short stay of 2 nights. My room was clean enough and was quiet although it faced the street. When I asked reception if I could have heating on as I wanted to dry my coat, shoes it had been switched on... more

This is a two star hotel that is as good as a two star place can get. The rates are great (I got a 40 euro deal a night), the staff are friendly (specially Jelena and John), there's a bar (just in case you spend the whole day walking around in Dublin and forget to get into a pub) and... more

WE'VE JUST RETURNED FROM A TWO NIGHT BREAK, WHICH IS ABOUT AS LONG AS WE COULD PUT UP WITH THIS ACCOMODATION. Hygiene is not top of their list of priorities , the toilets in the bar stank so much you could smell them from the bar, the chairs in the bar had so much grim on them that they had... more

Making a short trip to Dublin we stayed at Cauldfields hotel for 1 night. We were put in a room in the basement with what appeared to be a main emergency exit. The room was damp and very cold. It was damp because of the open drain in the en suite bathroom and it was cold because of the large... more

It's on the North side of the Liffey so there is a bit of a walk to the tourist attractions. Not far from the airport! I never made it to the bar since I only stayed two nights. My room over looked the street and it was quiet, so I had no problem falling asleep. The staff was friendly. The... more
