Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on Friday 8th March. We had booked a room for a disabled guest. Unfortunately, we have issues with the bathroom. Firstly, there is no ‘emergency/assistance’ cord that can be pulled if needed. Secondly, the shower is extremely difficult to turn off. I think that a guest with limited use of their hands (arthritis, stroke etc) would find it impossible to turn the shower control to the ‘off’ position. While I was struggling to turn the shower off, the pipes coming out of the wall and into the shower control were moving around and I was concerned that I would cause damage. On a separate note, the hotel was extremely noisy with people on the corridors, talking, doors opening/closing until the early hours of the morning. I heard other guests also mentioning this at reception the following morning. We got about four hours sleep and we were both so tired in the morning that we abandoned our plans for a day in Dublin and just went back home to Co.Galway. However, I want to finish on a positive note and commend the staff that we met at reception, at the bar for our meal on Friday evening, and at the breakfast service on Saturday morning.

Had a family meet up in the bar for food and drinks on mothers day. Food and service was excellent. Very relaxed and enjoyable. Staff are so friendly. Hats off to Carol and team you are all tops. Thanks for a great gathering. Both adults and children felt at home. There was a party of 7 adults and 6 children and we were all looked after do well. Because it is so spacious the kids could sit back without feeling hemmed in and wanting to run around. All in all it is the perfect venue for family gatherings.

From the minute we got in the door, all 8 of us were so well looked after by Carol & Teavy and the team. We were brought to a table to suit us all & directed to the food. Asked several times by different staff members if we needed anything else. All very happy with everything. Well done. 👏🏻

Ideal for a friends weekend away. Super-friendly staff, throughout the hotel. Reception, bar, restaurant. Carol and the team looked after us brilliantly. Rooms were spot on too, we had booked 4 x twins. Ideal location next to motorway, and not too far a taxi to get into city centre.

Very nice hotel in a good location with free parking. Dublin city center is a short drive or bus ride away. Lobby, hallways, rooms, and bathrooms are clean, modern, and functional. Staff was very accommodating. The full Irish breakfast included with the room charge was delicious. Experience was well worth the price of stay. Enjoyed our accommodations and would recommend this hotel. I would stay here again

On Tuesday, 21st March 2023 I booked a room (via Booking.com) for a one-night stay at the Maldron Hotel Newlands Cross in Dublin on Christmas Day in preparation to heading to Dublin Airport on Saint Stephen's Day (Boxing Day). On Wednesday, 13th December I rang the aforementioned hotel to enquire what time the bar was scheduled to close on the night of the stay. Needless to say, I was flabbergasted to learn that not only was the bar not open... neither was the hotel. The rep acknowledged that she could see my booking was indeed legitimately registered and went on - following speaking with her manager - to book me into a sister hotel in the Dublin City suburb of Tallaght (further away from where we needed to be prior to our flight to the USA). To our dismay, during the check in process at this alternative dwelling, my wife and I quickly learned that the assurance I was given with regard to the bar being open until 22:00 was incorrect. I relayed this information but got a slim insincere apology. We weren't even offered a complimentary breakfast - regardless of us not being in a position to avail of due to our flight itinerary - as a small gesture. To make make matters worse, my wife and I had absolutely no access to onsite food/snacks or liquids as even the vending machine had an "Out of Order" notice displayed. The final insult was on our way to reception to check out, the reply to a "Good Morning" from both my wife and I was "Good Morning Sir".
