Were on a hen weekend and were promised hotel accomodation when we booked with 'last nite of freedom 'with double rooms but they actually booked us into this hostel (a jail would of ben better)-15 room dorm with bunk beds no chairs or tables and 2 dirty shower rooms, the room smelt, showers black mould on them, the window had redpaint... more

I would have to nominate this as the WORST hostel I have ever stayed in. Had a HORRIBLE experience involving 22-bed dorm (when we paid for it they told us it was a 16-bed dorm!!). There were curious white stains on the couch in the hall, rubbish overflowing out of the kitchen bin with no-one in sight to clean it.... more

DON'T GO THERE PLEASE !!!!! It was durty and smelly . You have to pay 2 euros to have just a blanket. People eat in the bedroom... rooms are mixt and the reception is not professional at all !!! (problem with our reservation). The breakfast is very poor (no jam, just coffee, toast and butter). Most of all, the cutlery... more

Two stars just for the location - nothing else!! And thats being generous, still 10 min walk to city centre... Brown's Hostel is not in a bad location for what we needed it for. Few lads wanting to enjoy Dublin's night life and crash at the end of the day!! I would not recommend to girls as the location is... more

Dublin was my first stop as a solo traveller. I had been travelling with a friend for the past 18 months so have stayed in my fair share of hostels. When i first arrived in the morning there was a really lovely guy working and really helpful. However I couldn't check in until the afternoon, which i totally understand, yet... more

DO NOT STAY in this horrible, smelly hostel. The room was cramped and the fusty smell of damp was everywhere. The floor was covered in dirt and hair and there appeared to be the remains of someone’s dinner under the bed. The bathroom smelt like an incontinent dog had taken up residence and he had probably been sleeping on the... more

DON'T GO!! I nominate this hostel as the worst hostel EVER! Terrible smell, dirty mattress, food under the bed.... and extremely uninterested and bad-tempered staff. The room had plainly not been cleaned in weeks. Only go if you love dark, damp places... more

PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE! A list of the less desirable elements: chewing gum & bottle tops stuck to the door, piss smelling bathroom, peeling walls, what looked like dried EXCREMENT on the mattress - is that enough?! Pay a few extra pounds and stay somewhere else. There were 8 of us in space to swing a kitten, and they made... more

This hostel is filthy and horrible. DONT STAY HERE. The room smelt like dirty feet and mould, the showers were filthy, the carpets looked like they were last vacumed in 1997 and the staff could not have cared less. I was under an air-conditiong vent and they DID NOT turn it down. People were sleeping in other peoples bed and... more

This hostel is the worst ever and I ask myself why there is no photos posted here to see how lame it is. In fact the hostel name is libellous: it's a dump disguised with an hostel panel. Judge by yourself: 1/ the guys there don't know anything about hospitality: they are ruthless, bad mannered, noisy, not polite and not... more
