The Tavistock Bed and Breakfast is a grand place to stay at as the couple who has it are wonderful, warm people who take care of you. Shower on the room, two beds and a TV. It's very near to both the City Centre (O'Connel strees) and to Raneleigh Luas station. a 15 minut walk into town and 5 minutes... more

My partner & I stayed at Tavistock in Sep '08 b/c they allow our dog. We were given Rm 1 next to the entrance of the house which made for a very noisy & sleepless weekend. The bathroom had some mold & the room needed some TLC, but the staff lady Marade was so kind to us & our dog... more

This guesthouse is advertised as a premier b and b with excellent facilities. WRONG. The room given to me was small, with a bed made from what seemed to be bamboo, an old fahioned dusty duvet, and was located at the front of the b and b right next to the noisy main road through ranelagh. (n.b the room is... more

I stayed in the Tavistock house for a long weekend -* Thur to sunday. I had lived in Ranelagh for a number of years so I was really looking forward to staying in the area. My first impression was not a good one - I called to the door to enquire about where we could park and I was handed... more

Stayed there with my sister and found the B/B to be very good. We had a large twin bedroom which was clean. An excellent freshly cooked breakfast each morning. The links to the City and local restruants again excellent. I found the Brain and his staff really friendly and helpful. The only down side to this wonderful house, its in need... more

As a resident in Ranelagh for all my life, i have recommended this b&b to many of my friends, thinking i was promoting local trade. However i was shocked and disgusted at the treatment i received form the "owner". I called to the b&b to inform him a relative of mine that was booked in to stay during that week... more

I saw the reviews and wanted to add my positive experience. We stayed in July 2004 and had a wonderful time. Our room was clean and rather large. The owners let us stock champagne and help us celebrate a special event. Breakfasts were very good each morning with as much as you wanted to eat. We were there the weekend... more

The Tavistock was less than we expected, based on prior reviews. The overall feeling is worn, drab, in need of maintenance. Plaster was falling off the bathroom wall. Caulking around the shower was partially missing and rusty/dirty looking. No reading lights except on bedstands; the overhead light was too dim. No washcloth or tissues (European style!). Breakfast was fine and... more

Guest House Wonderful Georgian townhouse run by the chraming Cusack family. I was lucky enough to get a double room for single occupancy at a super price considering the accomodtion, location and friendly service. Room (double for single occ.) Clean and spacious. Bath (with shower). Apart from the tricky window handle, the room was perfect. Location In Ranelagh, a peaceful... more

We found this B&B through a recommendation from a friend. We were living in the US and looking for somewhere to stay in Dublin that wasnt right in the city centre but within an easy walk from it. Plus getting somewhere with a bit of character would be a bonus. This place fit the bill perfectly. Its a lovely large... more
