Easy walking distance to downtown Galway City, tasty breakfasts, but the overall experience suggested a priority of maximizing revenue without providing commensurate service. Ashford Manor is a no-frills place. You get a bed, a bathroom, and a breakfast, but not much else. There is no 24-hour front desk, which can be a problem if you want to check in late in the evening. (You have to call them in order to get into the building.) Although they have a computer with internet access... more

This has got to be the worst place we have ever stayed in. I have never seen such filth in all of my travels. Please read the other reviews that state how awful this place is, as I agree totally with everything they have said, how bad the breakfast is down to the mould on the walls and curtains falling... more

I was looking for a pleasant place close to town. Ashford Manor exceeded my expectations. It was very clean, the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, it was a short walk to all the shops, and the people were warm and friendly. Very disappointing standard. The building looks lovely from the outside and the reception area is very nice also but so misleading! Myself and my friends were led out through the back of the property to another house which also contained rooms. The rooms weren't great - very cramped. The carpets were filthy and were covered in stains...as were the duvet... more
