Stayed at the Victoria Hotel the weekend of the Volvo Ocean Race - an absolutely perfect location - close to Eyre Square, close to the docks. The room was clean, comfortable and what you'd expect - nothing too fancy. Service was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was fine and delivered on time the next day. Parking down the road... more

Friendly, likable staff. Parking long distance from hotel. However,Location of Hotel ideal for local shopping.1st Room had damp mould and moss so bad that wallpaper was even trying to leave! We complained, transferred to 'upgrade' bigger room, bigger telly, faded sofa, dodgy kettle and dirty windows. Breakfast good but not exactly what we ordered. Would have liked to have had... more

Everything about our stay at Victoria was perfect. It was very clean and had a good atmosphere. It's very close to the bus station, within a five minute walk. There were also plenty of stores and shops nearby too. The staff was very nice and helpful with information on local attractions and opinions of what is interesting to do. I... more

the locatin of this hotel is its best feature. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is below standard. we paid €140 for one night. I know prices in Galway are above average and have not been hit by the recesssion but for me this was overpriced for this shabby hotel. Ann from Limerick more

I stayed here with my partner for a weekend in september last. We had an excellent time in Galway and enjoyed the nightlife. In this hotel we got a good deal, which we were pleased with, €50 pppn. Breakfast was good in the morning and the hotel was quite busy. The rooms were standard, lacked anything that made them stand... more

I stayed in the Victoria in April this year. It was my fourth stay in the past three years and yet again the staff made me feel very welcome. The bedrooms are large and spacious - very clean with a good supply of towels and toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided. The public areas are large and... more

I have stayed at the Victoria hotel during raceweek for a few years now. The hotel is situated in the heart of Galway which is brilliant for nights out and even though it's very central the prices are quite reasonable. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the rooms spacious. I will keep going back! more
