This place was a real gem. Just off of Eyre Square and within walking distance of Galway's many charms without being so close as to never get a moment's peace. Not very friendly service...looked like people that work there have no training. Room was very clean and food was good. more
first impression wasn't great, but when i got to the room i couldn't complain, it was spacious clean and big en suite, very small tv though, bar was nice, friendly staff, just two minutes walk to shop street and just off eyre sq, good value for money, no parking supplied but car park near by for 9 euro per day... more

We arrived without a reservation on Sunday night (for the Glaway Oyster Festival) and got a b&b room rate of €40 per person sharing. The room had a King size and single size bed and was spacious. This hotel is nothing fancy, but it did the trick in Galway. The location was very convenient and rooms were clean and comfortable. There were holes in the walls, so it was a little bit shabby, but we really didn't mind. stayed in the victoria hotel for three nights midweek. The hotel seemed very busy. Check in was quick which was good. The staff where all very polite and friendly. Breakfast was good, and dinner in the restaurant on the second night was really tasty. Compliments to the chef, we had steak which was lovely and tender and cooked the way... more
Stayed there in December'08. Very dated hotel, ugly, unpleasant room.....Everything was old. If you look for a nice relaxing stay, it's not a good place to go to. more
