We had a wonderful time at Roncalli in very late December, and were thankful to find it open even on December 23rd. Kathleen Brazil was standing in as hostess while Tim and Carmel were on vacation, and she was an *absolute delight*! Roncalli has a gorgeous garden/courtyard view from the dining area which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning over breakfast.... more

This B&B supposed to be in front of the Galway bay is in fact near a very passing road that makes it noisy. No common room. Quiet expensive even if you stay more than one day and cash is "highly recommended"... more

Roncalli House is located about a fifteen minute walk from the center of Galway. The owners are terrific. They greet their guests as family members, and are extremely helpful recommending sights, restaurants, and pubs. They make the stay easy and relaxing. Breakfasts feature cook-to-order choices and are excellent. We've stayed at Roncalli House twice (seven years apart) and would stay... more

I've been staying at Roncalli House B&B for three nights in early May 2009. The location is in a residential area between the city center and the Salthill area. Downtown Galway and its pubs & restaurants are within walking distance. The rooms have flat screen TV and tea making facilities. My room on the upper floor was small but comfortable... more

We got there after a long day of climbing and walking and deeply wanted comfort and rest. The Roncalli's greeted us and seemed very nice. Our rooms were decent but there was no wardrobe and basically NO SPACE AT ALL in the bathrooms. We recieved a nice suprise though! The room we were staying in had been previously used by... more

Whilst it is in a reasonable location with reasonably clean rooms and a reasonable version of a full irish breakfast, my fellow travellers and I found the owners of this bnb to be most UNreasonable...! Having stayed over on a saturday night we were practicaly hounded out of our rooms by 11.00 on the dot because and I quote they... more

We have mixed feelings about the Roncalli House. Its location-- pretty and quiet Salthill--is a good one if you like to sleep in a quiet place and don't mind walking a bit to the action. The city center is about a 15-minute walk. Our first impressions of Roncalli were excellent. The hosts were friendly and helpful both in email contact... more

Very small room, toilet/shower in what was intended to be a built in wardrobe, very basic room wise, but clean. Did not stay and found a lot better. House in part of a housing estate, well placed for walk in town....but.... more

Excellent B&B, fine hosts, great breakfast. Very pretty house, a very short distance to Galway Bay. Great location for taking day tours. Nothing but praise for this B&B! more

Nice hosts but not very talkative. Not the best place for a small child. No cots. There are better places in Galway. Try the ocean front ones. Galway was my favorite town in Ireland. Has a lot of energy. Great running location along the ocean. more
