My wife and I just got back from an 8 night, 9 day trip to Ireland. We ended up booking the Galway Courtyard due to our ability to use Marriott points in booking the hotel and because SPG didn't have a hotel in the Galway area (I much prefer SPG hotels). Well, not only did it cost me 25k pts... more

The hotel is not centrally located and required a taxi ride to get to the city center, it is located on a busy road and there is a petrol forecourt located on the side of the hotel. Inside is fine - clean and well decorated. We were given a disabled room despite not requiring one - this was a inconvenience... more

My husband and I stayed here two nights and used it as a jumping off point for Clifden and Connemara. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was large and comfortable (king bed). An ice machine was appreciated. Shopping center 2 blocks away where we purchased our visitor adaptor. Easy to get in and out of... more

I had a very poor experience at this hotel on a number of fronts. The hotel wanted me to scan my credit card and supply my PIN on check-in. That did NOT happen - they were welcome to a copy of the credit card but that was it. I was on a business course with several others. Air Conditioning in... more

Stayed here for one night with my wife. I was very pleased with the room which was enormous by hotel standards and had the expected Marriott customisation applied to it. However, I found a number of issues with this Hotel: 1. The location is not central and requires a taxi or brisk 15 minute walk to get to the heart... more

Spent a night here wiht my wife and young family. From the moment we arrived until we left we were very impressed wiht the quality of the rooms , service and especially the food. Only gripe would be that there is no pool . The location is a 10 minute walk to city centre and we didnt mind that as... more

This is a fairly typical Courtyard. The rooms were fine and quite roomy for Europe. However, the location isn't very good. You've got quite a walk or a 10 euro cab ride into town. If I wasn't traveling with a tour, I never would have stayed here for that reason alone. But I don't think I can blame Courtyard for... more

We stayed at the Courtyard in Galway City for 2 nights. The facilities were updated and clean. I would consider this more of an upscale hotel than other Courtyard's I've stayed at. I was a little apprehensive when initially booking as I was not familiar with the area and wanted something reasonably close to the downtown area. The Courtyard was... more

Of the hotels that we stayed at while in Ireland, this one was our least favorite. Upon entering our room, we noticed that it was warm and humid. No air conditioning! We reported this to the front desk who informed us that we must not be using the AC controls correctly. After about an hour (with no relief - and... more
