I recently spent a week-end in Galway with my partner. We took the train from Dublin to Galway. We stayed at Lynfield Guesthouse in College Road. It was just a two to three minute walk from the train station. The B&B was wonderful, warm and well furnished. The breakfast was top quality with a choice of full Irish of continental.... more

No other words to describe this place, in particular the owner named Adrian. We booked Lynfield Guest House almost 2 months in advance. Spoke to owner Adrian on the phone after booking to check on details of the place. Everything was fine, until we arrived. A young girl who barely spoke english was there to greet us. Told us they... more

The Lynfield has a good location on College Road, a short walk from center of town and the tourist information center. Breakfast was good, with eggs, bacon, sausage, black & white pudding, toast, bread, scones, and (yes) beans. The owner is a young Polish woman named "Kate." She's very accommodating and even rustled us some toast and coffee when we arrived... more

Galway Races Fans - Beware! On 14th May 2009 I booked and paid in full for a triple room in Lynfield B&B for myself and two friends looking forward to spending two days at the races the end of July. Another friend was already booked into the B&B weeks earlier with 6 of her friends and this was our reason... more

There are numerous negatives I could list about Lynfield (tiny rooms, dodgy shower, suspect cleanliness, chain smoking innkeeper, smooth talking owner, etc.) however, I will list the ONLY positive feature about this place - it's a 10 minute walk from Galway City center. That's it, there is NO other reason to stay here. There are so many other B&B's in... more

I was a student last year in Yeats College and I stayed part of the year in this digs. If you are thinking of staying here for the coming academic year 09/10; think again! The owner Adrein is the most horrible man I have ever meet. He rips students off with rent money. He tried to charged me and some... more

Having read other reviews, I wonder are they geniunely from other guests. This is the worst place I have ever experienced. The bedroom was situated in the attic - up a very narrow stair case which was the width of my suitcase - the room had two double beds - No wardrobe and no dressing table or drawers. The bathroom... more

We visited Galway City during the Volvo Ocean Race. Galway was one of the main stop off ports. The city was packed, with people everywhere. We had booked Lynfield Guesthouse when we heard the event was stopping off in Galway. We travelled to Galway by train.Lynfield was great. I was just a three minute walk from the train station. The room... more

After a long day of traveling, my husband and I pulled up to the long line of B&B's on college street. We rang the bell at Lynfield and the gal who opened the door was nice but curt. She appeared to be missing an episode of her favorite show and wanted to rush us through. The house appeared nice enough... more
