We heard about Friars Glen from friends and booked for 3 nights. They could not have been more right about how nice it is. From the moment we arrived Mary and John saw to our every need. The room was fantastic and we loved the peat fire that was laid every night. It's a short ways to Killarney town by... more

I have to agree with everyone else. We toured the Island from Killarney to Belfast and back the other coast. Next time I will book a week or so at Friar's Glenn and just enjoy the South. Our room was lovely, roomy and quiet. Mary was organized and friendly but Brigid was the best. We began each day with one... more

We found Friar's Glen by chance after being disappointed with our first choice in the area. This is a relatively new stone structure, beautifully built in a fabulous setting in the Killarney National Park. We were attracted by the entrance to Friar's Glen. We walked up thinking we would just check it out and see if there was a room... more

Doing a whirlwind tour of Ireland was great fun. From Dublin to Glendalough to Cashel to Killarney to Doolin to Galway to Clifden and back to Dublin we saw many wonderful sights. But if there is a next time, we'd skip all the long distance travel and spend more time in County Kerry. And Friars Glen is THE place to... more

This was by far my favorite B&B that I stayed at. It was so cute and cozy! The host, Mary, was very friendly. She gave us great advice for where to go in town for dinner and general ideas for what to do in the area. The B&B is walking distance from Killarney National Park, so a great place to... more

This was the first place we stayed on our recent trip to Ireland and what a great impression. We arrived jet-lagged from Shannon airport and frazzled from driving our rental car. Mary and Bridget were an oasis of calm, offering us snacks and tea even though breakfast time was over. She even had a room ready for us. We were... more

We stayed at Friar's Glen for 4 nights as part of an 11 night holiday to Ireland. the rooms were exceptionally clean, large, comfortable and very up to date. The best part, however, was the wonderful welcome and assistance given by mary and Bridget. They were both so helpful giving us expert advice and genuine care. the breakfast was outstanding... more

My boyfriend and I were the first guests of the 2009 season at Friar's Glen and Mary, Bridget and John certainly were not out of practice. Every effort was made by them to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and to make us feel at home. Fresh tea/coffee was offered on our arrival, along with a quick run-through of... more

Perhaps I had expected a veritable paradise based on the reviews of other tripadvisor members but, while I found the Friar's Glen more than comfortable, we had better accommodations elsewhere on our trip throughout Ireland. Here are the pros and cons as I saw them: Pros: - Bridget: mentioned in other reviews, the hostess (for lack of a better word,... more

My husband and I, and our two daughters (ages 7 and 9), stayed at Friar's Glen for four nights. We loved every minute of our time there. The breakfast was fabulous, the service was incredible, and the rooms were spotless. We enjoyed the relaxing environment (especially sitting by the fire that was lit each night). Bridget was so kind and... more
