My partner and I recently travelled to Killarney for a weekend away and booked into Wayside bed and breakfast. On arrival the owner was very unfriendly and did not make us feel welcome in any way! The rooms are very basic, which generally would not bother me, however, the sheets were dirty, the room was freezing, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, the handle of the door was falling off, there was constantly noise in the house. It was just awful! My partner and I were charged €170 euros when checking out despite being quoted €140 euros on arrival (even though this did not include breakfast!!!). As we had arrived slightly late on the saturday night, approx. 7.30pm, the owner had charged the first night to our credit card (despite the fact that there was no specified check in times).
