We were greeted warmly by the owner albeit he was somewhat suprised to see us because he had us down as arriving the next day. Thankfully, one of the cottages was available and we weren't left stranded with a very tired baby. He took us through the cottage and explained the rules about recycling (and charges for not doing so)... more

we just got back from Croan yesterday after a lovely week altogether! The drive up to the cottages is through a beautiful tree-lined drive which leads to a fully restored, majestic period house.What a lovely way to arrive!! We really had a lovely time at Croan, the place is absolutely beautiful and we loved every minute of our stay. The "wildlife" was something to behold and our dogs were mesmarised by the peacock family. Our little girl enjoyed it especially seeing the animals so close. We also enjoyed the great walks. We stayed in Croan cottages last weekend. The location is fantastic (although it is expensive to get to and from Kilkenny City - €35-40 each way).
