I stayed in the Ormonde about two years ago with my husband and we really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was really good and dinner in the main restaurant was to a very high standard. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were nice too. It's in a good central location in Kilkenny. I stayed as part of a group recently, and we arrived at 1.30pm that day. We were told check-in time was 4pm, so we agreed to leave our bags and call back then. We all had dinner booked for 5.15pm, but even still, 4pm was ok. We arrived back a little after 4pm to be told our rooms weren't ready.... more

Just a few things to note: On the negative side. 1 The parking is in a NCP type high rise car park across the street from the hotel. My 4x4 was too high to go into the car park so I was allowed to park on a gated service road which goes down to the basement of the hotel. Unfortunately... more

I don't like to give bad comments, but recently stayed here and the pool & leisure centre was really bad. It just had a very 'unclean' feeling about it although it wasn't actually dirty as such. There was a smashed window by the pool which should have really been replaced as it gave a very 'neglected' feel to the whole... more

Having had trouble with our web booking agent, I went straight to the hotel and I must say that the reservation staff were most helpful. Never again will I book though an agent (Irish) I look forward to a return visit to this great hotel and city. more

I stayed in the ormonde hotel in kilkenny for one nite in feb 08.... to be honest i was disappointed in what we got for the price of the hotel.. the hotel is being rennovated so had no use of the pool... the restaurant is nice but very expensive.. it is very central location but the rooms are pretty basic... more
