My husband and I truly enjoyed Hillgrove. Margaret and Tony (and Stewie) were wonderful hosts. Margaret is very knowledgable of the area, best ways to get to points of interest and is a wonderful cook!. Thanks Margaret and Tony more

Hillgrove B&B was a welcome surprise following a difficult arrival to Ireland. Tornados in the US changed our flight schedule several times prior to arrival in Dublin. However, when I arrived at Hillgrove, I knew that my vacation was beginning. The hosts were very pleasant and yet not intrusive. The room was cozy and was perfect in size. The real... more
We stayed here for a night on the way back to Dublin. Unlike some other B&Bs which are very new, this is an older house that feels more like a manor house. The breakfast was great with several choices on the menu. It may be a mile from the town but on the same road that will take you to... more
It was our first trip to Ireland - a young couple, baby and two 70 year old parents. A tough crowd to please. This was our first B+B, as it would simply be too easy to book a hotel! So, we booked based on tripadvisor - the entire trip booked as so. B+Bs in Ireland are the way to go,... more
My daughter and I stayed here in May 2007. Margaret and Tony were fantastic hosts in a lovely settling. This place was recommended by a friend who had stayed there in 2006. Hillgrove is a mile or two outside city centre but it's an easy drive. This is a lovely setting, with lots of excellent choices for breakfast. The living... more
We LOVED our stay at Hillgrove. Margaret and Tony were so friendly and welcoming. Margaret really helped with maps and suggestions for what to do and where to eat in Kilkenny. She knows opening and closing times of every attraction around. We had a choice of rooms, and all were equally nice. There are great views from both the front... more
We stayed a night at Hillgrove B&B during our roadtrip from Galway to Dublin and it was definitely a highlight. Though it's a few miles out of town, it was a beautiful home and the owners were wonderful people. The rooms were beautiful and clean and the breakfast was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. more
My husband and I stayed at Hillgrove on our first of 10 nights in Ireland. The B&B is very well decorated and the hostess was very nice. Breakfast was delicious and she even took the time to mark pubs and restaurants on a town map for us to follow. It made our first Irish B&B experience very nice. One note... more
This was a lovely B&B in Kilkenny. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. The room was nicely decorated, clean and great for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent. We would definitely recommend this B&B. (Nb. It would be a bit too far to walk into the town centre from the B&B, you would need to have a car) more
We absolutely loved staying at this B&B; it was the best one. The owners Margaret and Tony were so nice and very helful. The breakfast was by far the best we had on our 2 week honeymoon and the other quests were friendly too. We can't say enough good things about this place. The room was very clean and we... more
